BBC Documentary looking to speak to the cannabis community

i still think that reading between the lines of what was said and shown, it was pretty realistic and demonstrated that cannabis would be much better being legal or decriminalized. the futility of weed being illegal was clearly shown imo...

Must agree.

All it showed to me was they were wasting hell of alot of money, Making cannabis legal would clear up half the problems they have shown on the show, the other half seemed to be down to bad parenting or irresponsible behaviour.

No-way mate! It wasnt fair, it was all one sided imo! where were the pro cannabis portrayals, it was all negatives, idiots that blame cannabis for there mental health issues, bullshit addictions, criminal activities ect ect etc ect. people that dont even know what addictions are about. strongly dissagree with ya man. Everyones entitled to an opinion of course my friend but i just didnt see any positives. your not going to get positives from people that have had nothing but negative experiences from using Cannabis. thats how i saw the doc. A load of neagative bullshit with no acctual sceintific facts or positive expeirences from users like me n you, medical Users" yeah>? Do you get me bro? where were the positives?

As for that Kid, his mother has no control; over him because you can clearly see she is mentally unstable because of her personal partnerships. Both of them should be in care. at 14 he is a minor & if the parent has no control & he is using drugs, including cannabis(i think other stuff too btw), then social services should have that kid in care, full stop!

im trying to look at the docu as a whole over the two parts. i expected this one, because of the subject matter of commercial weed, to be less positive than the first, and tbh the first one was so favorable that i think the BBC would be looking to not be attacked for being biased over the two shows.
medical use etc was dealt with in the first one and they did a pretty good job imo.
i agree with you about the kid - cannabis was the least of his problems. it was clearly a cry for help.

Sorry mate, i went off on one before i read your whole post, ive edited buddy!
i do agree with you on certain point, the 2 shows as a whole, but the Doc-u-makers should give a fair, even potrayal in both shows & the rest of them too, 50/50 for & against & it just wasnt there bro! That got my hair right off, its always the weeds fault!

I love how the cops on the busts just randomly come up with a street value on the spot lol

Thats why organisations like 'Release' are soo bloody important, they put the judges straight on that, depending on circumstances of course. there is no national standard & it varies in different countys in the UK, i do know they view numbers of plants nationally but values vary! Its a disgrace! ive seen the 2010 legislaton/law books recently. 1-2 plants or low amounts is a straight finable offence.(depending on form of course). The Book specified 1-2 plants, judges sentence according to these guidelines, i think it was a £400 fine maximum.(non-custodial), i couldnt even find this on the govenments websites(outdated). Not like they would want everyone to know stuff like that ah!

No one they showed were real stoners, the two band mates didn't even know what they were smoking on. Probably 99.9% tobacco with a tiny pinch of green like the rolling shots they kept showing, I cringe

How can the public be truly & honestly informed when a programme doesnt give a fair 50/50, for & against portrail. it was one sided in favour of prohibition. I only saw 10% for & 90% against. Imo that makes that paticular episode a complete sham, an episode that bascially decieves the public by showing a large majority of negatives. That paticular episode was dishonest & clever propaganda imo. The UK wont see medical cannabis dispensaries/cards like the States has as long as document makers twist peoples perceptions like they did in this episode. One step forward i called the first episode, the second two steps back. Caused more damage than good imo! Why cant the Doc-u-Makers give honest 50/50 for & against portrails, untill they do, its not real & its not fair, but nothing much is fair in this life.
Poorly produced to say the least!

The 2nd program was more REAL... some of our youth are wasted on dope (they have been for years) ,, some foreign investors are making cash (like they have been for years),, and the authorities are still hot on the case .. (like they always have been)

.. views like an advocate of decriminalised cultivation for personal use :canabis:

Whatever you may think the agenda is of any new agency if the people who respond are all positive role models of what a legal marijuana user is then the bbc wont be able to spin it to be negative can they.
The main thing is if we dont take chances to get our side out we never will think how hard it is for all those other documentaries like the union to get the inside interviews with the growers and users

interesting
i can tell you that yes people still smoke hash there and second they most likely smoke it for the same reasons everyone else does, A: more potent, B: more pure, C: healthier than smoking more buds to get the same high, and from my experience most people cant achieve the same high as hash with just buds (unless its some amazing bud),D: you can make hash as a way to salvage ruined buds or just plain shitty buds, to still get a decent product

these are just a few off the top of my head, best of luck with creating a truly unbiased view of cannabis use in Britain

hash better than bud? doubt it.. I have no experience with British hash (you guys still have soapbar?) but here's my limited and disappointing experience with hash in general.

There's almost no market in the US for hash so keep that in mind while reading my perspective. The only available hash is either not hash at all (little rock hard pieces of brown stuff that doesn't get you high) or avail for personal use only if you have cannaisseur friends who would take the time to make and share it.

The hash I tried in India in 2005 was crap compared to US bud. The high is bland and feels like you smoked US mids. I was blown away when I came back and smoked a joint going home from the airport. I had completely forgotten what US bud was like and felt like I was smoking for the first time in awhile.

Problem with hash is that it primarily comes from places where weak bud grows outdoors. You can't sell that bud, so you use it to make hash. It's rarely stored properly and usually adulterated.

The flavor and potency are there (but again the high is different, it's subtle, perhaps because the THC has degraded) but I doubt it's safer than smoking bud as hash is easy to adulterate and most people smoke hash with tobacco or some other herb so that negates any health benefits from not burning plant matter.

Only thing I miss are the huge clouds of white smoke from the smallest hits.

I'm surprised to hear people still smoke hash in the UK. I figure you guys are on top of the indoor game by now, considering the lax laws you have there.

most of us wouldn't touch soap bar crap but it's sold to kids wanting to get high on the cheap , or thats the only ppl i know who smoke it anyway !!!

theres hash and theres hash. by all rights it should be much better than bud as a concentrated product. if you can get the good stuff its great (often quite high in cbd too)

try making hash from your sugar leaf trim - then you know what good hash is ;)
