Hello all im growing 3 hindu kush bag seeds....i know its not a great source but its my first time so i figured it would be a good learning experience. So far they look like freaks super tight nodes...its look truly awesome. However yesterday the leaves began to turn an orangey colour towards the leaf tips....i am currently giving them a nute solution every 2 waterings. I am using Promix-hp, with regular tap water ph'd to around 6-6.5

note: i did have a heat issue a couple days ago the plants went all super limp and droopy but here are the latest pics....

I'd say you had your lights to close, heat burn...

If it was nute burn it would start at the bottom of the plant normally...

No worries...

Edited to add...

Now those seedlings are a different story, look a little over loved...

Yea, the older plants look great, a little burn from the heat but that's it.
The sprouts look like maybe over-watering? What did you do different with them compared to the older plants would be a good starting point.

That larger plant will not even feel a mild sunburn, but those little starts are in a tough spot it looks like its way too wet and soggy in there. Proper drainage (perlite) and watering interval times are important. Let them dry between waterings a bit more and hopefully they green up for you...NS

...when I fisrt started growing bro...I gave my girls too much loving...it's amazing how little they need, some ph'd water, decent soil (or coco) basic nutes and let nature takes it's course....the ONE thing I have learned is less is more, specially with nutes I almost burnt the FUCK outta my first Hindu/Skunk/Kush at the beginning ....now my Blue Dreams I used to grow, christ I could throw a ton of nutes at them and they just ate it up.....experience helps a lot and their are A LOT of really smart and experienced peeps here on IC.

edit: Over watering is something I also did at the beginning, I water one day, none for a day rinse and repeat, one watering with nutes, the next just ph'd water also...good luck you'll do fine!

Grow on Bro!

I know i know im not gonna water them till its bone dry. I've been lifting them all up now to check the weight to know when their dry. Whats up with the big guys though why are they drooping?? is it the temps?? i've raised the temp up to 81 degrees....hopefully that will dry them out a little i guess im just gonna be patient and hopefully these plants perk up again.

Possible things I see:
Overwatering all around, larger plants deal a lot better with it so they look pretty good... hot roots/soil with wet soil can kill all your roots very fast.

the big one with the dead tips looks like heat burn from your light.

Well it shouldn't be too wet....as i haven't watered it all day...stuck my finger in feels fairly moist an inch down in there....i only bumped the temp up by 5 degrees. What is the "optimal temp"??

Thanks for the tips.

Wait.....you were watering every day? Plant need a drying out time to allow oxygen back in the root zone. By watering every day you are basically starving your plants of oxygen and keeping the roots wet can lead to root rot. Those plant should only need watering every 2nd or 3rd day. Did you mix in any perlite in the soil of the bigger plants? It helps aerate the soil and prevents over-watering.

All but one of the small plants look like they don't have any perlite at all- not good sprouts need a light soil.
I would look for temps in the 72-78 range with lights on and possibly 68 for a low with lights out, why did you raise the temps?

No i was watering every other day however wasn't keeping track of things and may back done a back to back watering. The seedlings are in a mixture soil....the big guys are in Promix hp....Tokar do you think it would mess up the seedlings if i was to transplant them into new dixie cups with promix....it has a lot of perlite in it.

looked at the plants just before the lights went off tonite and transplanted one of the hindu kush plants...the inner part of the soil still felt moist when i began the transplant...im gonna let them all dry out 1 more day...before the next watering...that will make it 2 days no water.....btw i raised the temps cause i thought it would help them dry out a bit....day temps are @ 81 night temps are @ 73....i will snap some pics in the morning. Thank you all for your input.

Just get the temps back down to 78 & don't even open the door for another 2-days, and when you do don't do anything to the seedlings- the soil they are in doesn't look good at all but I prefer a nice rootmass & dry soil for transplanting, so just wait it out, but you probably won't need to water them for like 2-weeks. On the bigger ones 2-days without water is nothing, with BX when I up-pot I can sometimes go 1.5 weeks without water!! You don't need to worry about keeping track of things, just wait until the soil is bone dry even when you scratch the top a bit. My .02c

those cups got holes in the m, right? If not, at this poiint it might be good to cut the whole bottom out and put them on a plate or something, let some air in there, maybe transplant them to a dry medium.

If they were mine I wouldn't transplant the seedlings yet, too easy to damage the roots. I would make sure there are at least 4-5 holes in the bottom of those cups and be careful with the waterings.
Here's something you can do to check for when to water: Fill a cup up with the same soil mix that is dry and compare the weight to the ones with the plants. Don't water until they are about the same.

Just make sure when you do transplant the new soil has plenty of perlite for drainage.

So i've refrained from watering them and they're looking much better. 1 plant is showing some discolouration on one of the lower leaves i took a close up pic....is it anything to be worried about?
