aero timer

do both hi pressure and low pressure aero require 1 on 4 off timers? need to know before I invest in cap 1on 4 off timer. taproot

hi pressure ideally needs a timer that can go down to one second, a minute is ok for low pressure.

I don't use one for low pressure. I have misters running 24/7 and I think this offers the best oxygen/water ratio for hydroponic set-ups. On high pressure set-ups I'd say it's mandatory because such a fine mist dries out very quickly and a constant mist seems like it would suffocate the root system since the micron size of the water is much smaller.
 
Like Me2 says, with high pressure you want a timer that can go to increments of a second, if possible.

LP it doesn't really matter.

will running a pump 24/7 cause the res to heat up. this is for low pressure . also thanks guys for the help. taproot

It's not necessarily bad to run a high-pressure pump for more than a few seconds, it's just unnecessary. It only takes a few seconds at most to drench the roots. I personally run my high-pressure systems for a 1on/5off, and see no ill effects because of it.
