I got the scare of my life lastnight...

I just started to harvest my latest crop and had to dispose of some rootballs.
I went to a dumpster behind a strip mall and I had just thrown my last rootball in the dumpster and got back in my car when a police car pulled in front of me...OH SHIT!!!
He asked what I was doing and I said I was looking for scrap metal to salvage because one of the bulidings is being renovated.
He took my license, checked me out, I'm clean.
He looked in the car, I had nothing and then He let me leave, everything took about 15 minutes.
He saw me pull in and park but very, very lucky for me He didn't see what I was doing thanks to the mountains of snow everywhere, otherwise I'd of been totally fucked...I need to find an alternate way of getting rid of my rootballs.

Sounds like you might be in danger if they saw you throwing stuff in the dumpster - they know who you are and that you lied for the scrap, they only have to check the dumpster after that.

Apartment dumpsters for sure.

If He saw me chucking stuff in the dumpster He would have asked what I was throwing in it and checked it.
The rootballs were in black trash bags so they look like any other trash bag in a dumpster.

It was in a different county from where I live. No Jurisdiction. If He didn't see me put it there He can't say I put it there. It could've been there when I pulled up, it could've been put there after I left.

This is an area of concern for me.
I found a couple huge dumpsters close to me that are emptied often.
Then I went out and got the same exact trash bags that the business whose dumpsters they are uses, I go on sundays when there's nobody there, approach from a way that allows me to see all traffic in the area(so I can't be snuck up on like that) and then I dump my grow waste.
I only go once every three months or so.

I only dump the dirt, no trim or stalks, just roots and dirt.

I didn't notice at first when I pulled up that the building that is being renovated has a delivery bay that was only covered by loose plywood, no door. So the police were probably checking on the building and I showed up at the wrong time.

soak in something cheap and safe that will dissolve them a bit and throw in garbage disposal
edit: oh, dirt too... myself, I plan to use that soil again for gardening edibles outside

I wouldn't sweat it. Things surely would have been different if oinky saw you throw the bags IN the dumpster, and wanted to find out what they were.

Maybe find a stream where the water will errode the dirt off the root ball and a root ball won't look out of place. I am lucky to have a good size garden to add my soil to. I know in a few years im gonna have to buy a farm to start dumping the dirt as I don't want my garden to shine that much.

I use 7 gallon containers so its too much to put in my liitle garden outside.

Captain: I had white boxers on when I left the house and when I got back...well..let's just say they aint white no more...lol

country is the best.... drive out to the country unload bags of root bals its all organic its not litering just make sure to chuck them off the side of the road so people cant see them...
