what kind of water do you prefer to drink, tap water or bottled?

they say tap water is better because it has to go through more test and is better regulated than bottled water.

bottled water in the United States falls under the regulatory authority of the Food and Drug Administration. In practice, about 70 percent of bottled water never crosses state lines for sale, making it exempt from FDA oversight.

On the other hand, water systems in the developed world are well-regulated. In the U.S., for instance, municipal water falls under the purview of the Environmental Protection Agency, and is regularly inspected for bacteria and toxic chemicals.

also, bottled water cost about 5-6 dollars a gallon *EDIT* and they say to drink Eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day which is half a gallon

i just use a filter on the sink in my kitchen

haven drank water 98% of the time for the past 2 1/2 years, i prefer filtered through my refrigerator.......

my town has excellent quality water, but my pipes have lead in them, bottled is too expensive, dont like the taste of brita....

shit, im drinking water right now....

i need to pee.....

I drink bottled since I heard that there is an excess of homones in the water system caused mostly by the contraceptive pill.

Probably an urban myth, but you know, don't want mah fella getting moobs so I have to lead by example. :D

My Pur filter attached to the sink brings my tap from 454 ppm all the way down to 448 ppm. Those things are a scam in my book.... I like R/O water or distilled to drink.

I have a deep well @ 60' or so for drinking water, it's very clean and tasty and is only high in calcium (hard water) without any rust or sulfur issues and smells. I don't bother to filter it now but am planning on an RO system in the near future.

Give me the chems. Cumlative substances such as flouride are added to municipal drinking water... And we wonder why we die young, have more health problems, lower IQ, hummm....

In the long run, filtering your own tap water with a serious filter (Reverse Osmosis) is the healthiest and also the most economical.

The drawbacks to bottled water is that most bottled water companies use tap water to fill their bottles and the ones that don't use a process called water mining, which is destructive to the natural water supply. Plastic bottles also leach a chemical DHA into the water, and many of the plastic bottles end up in land fills polluting the planet.

The bottled water industry is fast and growing (5.5 billion a year) in water sales, essentially making a commodity out of something we should all have the right to, free clean water. Some are saying water will be the next gold in the near future. So you really don't want to pay some corporation to put water in a bottle for you.

We (humans) need 1-3 liters of water a day, we should be peeing 10 times a day clear, if your urine is yellow or straw, its time to drink more. Yellow pee means you are dehydrated. So as you can see a daily intake of a gallon a day would get expensive fast.

If you want the best water you can get, start looking for a natural spring in your area, this water is straight from the earth and full of minerals with plenty of earth energy. Use glass containers for your spring water, it really enhances the water.

To find natural spring check out findaspring.com, it may be helpful, if not search your your area and springs. I have 4 or 5 springs around me so its pretty cool.

Conclusion, the best choices are collecting your own natural spring water or R/o your own tap, I think we all need to boycott the water companies, I mean how can we let them make money on water. The only thing bottled water is good for is if your in a highly polluted country that doesn't have any clean water sources, thats why you always see like National Geo explorers drinking bottled when in Africa and such.

RO water if i drink it...goda have some tea in there or something....on another note they recently tested 35 cities, most were in Cali if im not mistaken and 31 of them came back positive for Chromium 6...heres part of the article...

Hexavalent chromium, the chemical made famous by the 2000 film "Erin Brockovich," is once again in the news after an environmental organization released a report indicating that the chemical has contaminated drinking water in more than 30 cities nationwide.
and the rest can be read here....

WHAT!!!!!!!! :yoinks:
You must be buying small bottles??????
I buy gallon jugs at the grocery store for 85 cents a gallon. I have hyper chlorinated town water, YUCK.
If I were you I'd be buying gallon jugs, and filling up my small bottles with it, if you really need the small bottles, that is.

I prefer bottled. In fact more specifically: I prefer Miller Genuine Draft. But I like it ice cold, almost slushy.

Actually I've never undestood the practice of buying cases of bottled water.
What a waste of money, and a shit ton of empties to deal with!
To each his/her own I guess!

i drink tap filtered through a berkey water filter, with pf2 flouride filter attachments. if i have to drink bottled water its gotta be smartwater.

Zero Water filters actually work as advertised. I don't like the taste of RO water, but a fresh filter will knock the ppm's of tap water right down to zero.

I drink the filtered tap water outa my fridge. So do my dogs!

I get 4 - 5 gallon bottles of water a month and purchased the hot & cold machine from the company outright and spend around $25.00 a month on water for drinking because our well water has a high level of arsenic and it's been tested at around 0.01 milligrams per liter of water.

It works for us and the machine keeps the water nice and cold in the summer and boiling hot for any hot beverage in the winter.
