PH?

I think baking soda will work. Just try a little in your water and see.

Edit: Sorry about the baking soda idea...Guess it's not good for your plants.

baking soda is an AWFUL idea. Adding sodium to your soil is never a smart move.

If you're mixing up soil for future use adding dolomite will help raise & stabilize pH in most mixes. The amounts you need to add will vary a bit with what you're starting with however. What soil mix are you using?

You can also scratch in a very small amount into a fingernails depth or so of soil. Every time you water this "top scratch" will work it's way into the soil, gradually raising pH.

^^^ Definantly not, that will fuck ur shit up quick, unless u mix it with water and bring the ph up very slowly. imo the best method as mentioned before is topdressing with lime.

edit: dunno why i wrote that, yea its fine to use... why havent u been PH'ing your water from the start?

It's PH Up and it's PH down. Why would it mess up your grow? What do you mean mix it with water? Isn't that what you are supposed to do? I read somewhere that you're not supposed to lime and feed at the same time. I may be wrong.

Don't use PH up or PH down if your growing organic, it will kill all the beneficial bacteria.
As mentioned use lime as either a top dressing or you can mix some in water and water normally.

Do you know what I can put there to add some beneficial bacteria? Molasses? Sorry jdog, I thought this was one of my threads, hope you don't mind the quick question. Also want to say that i have used lime before andc the results were pretty good but I don't think it did all that much in getting me a good and stable pH. Don't most limes take years to even start working?

Limes can take minutes to start working if they're active, dolomite will start dissolving the second it encounters acidic hydrated conditions.

I don't see why Ph up or down would hurt when added to your water. I've had to do it in previous grows and noticed no negative effects

Yes you can, but like I said earlier if you are growing organic (it doesn't seem like you are trying to do a strictly organic run) after you use a chemical PH up or down you will either have to replace the beneficials and organic fertilizers or just use chemical nutes.

Not generally. Unless you consider something like FF Big Bloom to be "chemical". It has a lot of bacteria in it that is good for your soil.

Most chemical nutes can't store living bacterias. They may contain micro nutes and minerals that your plants need just not in large doses like N-P-K
