4 Small Healthy Plants, Need 26 Clones.

I have four healthy plants , All four were flowering clones....So they took forever to root and grow but now their turning into beast's quickly.

They are all just a little under a foot tall and all four have five or more main heads. I have two master kush, One OG Kush and a OG Kush sister pheno.

The master kush are SO healthy, fat and wide its sickning. The OG is not doing so hot, Its been throwing fits about PH and CAL the whole time while Master just agrees with everything.

Now, This is the beginning for me, First cycle. I need at least 26 to turn on the flower room. Im very pressed here. I have been using this big ass space for rooting clones for the past two months. Commercial space rent aint cheap, Neither is keeping the room under control while its 0 degrees outside.

Do I hack these beautiful plants to death just to get 26 clones out of them? I feel funny about doing it to them, I have babied these bitches for what seems like forever, Startup has really cost me.

Most of you would probly say, Wait! Let them get big enough to save them AND get the clones. Well my problem is I have waited long enough...I cant wait anymore, Its costing me to much and I need to do a cycle now to get the money to do it again.

If I dont have rooted clones by Feb 1, Im pretty much screwed. That would put me in flower by March 3 or 4 and harvest in early May.

Do I just clone every head I see? I have never had to clone a plant to death before hahaha, It freaks me out.

If you take clones leaving one node below the cut (on the mother) for new branches to form they will survive as great moms and put out many more cuts to choose from next time round.

Are you wanting to flower the little plants as well as the clones?

No. I wanted a fresh set so they would all be the same age,Similar heights and I could train them all into my space equally. I dont want any super mature plants trying to take over smaller plants space.

Im thinking about ditching the OG all together, These two strains are being fed by the same res...Which means in trying to make OG happy I may make master unhappy at some point. Its a tough decision.

Okay this will probably scare the shit out of some peeps. But if you do it then you will never worry about clones again. I do it 10 days before I need cuts and it works every time...

Follow these steps over the next 10 days:
  1. Major defoliation of all 4 mother plants. Remove every fan leaf.
  2. Remove any leaves that have 3 or more formed leaves.
  3. Mix up a couple batches of 1/2 strength 20-20-20 nutes and feed the mothers.
  4. Tie open the branches so they are held horizontal.
  5. Spend $15 for one of these lights: 300w CFL
  6. Get the light in the center of all 4 mums, as close as possible w/out burning. (I even set up a couple pc fans to move warm air away from plants, there are few or no leaves yet so you won't have to worry about wind burn as much.).
  7. Day 2 or 3 (as needed) feed w/ 1/2 strength nutes.
  8. Day 5 (as needed) feed w/ 1/2 strength nutes. Remove larger leaves from branch tips and all the leaves that have fully formed 3 or more leafs.
  9. NO NUTES after day 5 as in my experience excessive "N" can make cloning difficult w/ a lower success ratio.
Before the 10 days is up you will have dozens of new shoots and branches to choose from.

And just so you know that I'm not talking out my ass: These two ladies were completely DF'd 7 days ago, to be cut on this coming Friday.

If you force the plant to grow horizontal using a scrog screen or tying the branches individually, the hormones in the growing tips will be reduced and will allow the side branching to take off. This will start a major rush of new shoots, all the same age, and should give you lots of material to take clones from.

This works very well under a bank of floros with the lights kept just above the growing tips.

Going with all one strain would be easier for a number of reasons if you can get enough from the masters. Keep the other plants to experiment with in the future though.

Heres the same plant pictured above after the carnage, and a picture of the result.

Tomorrow is day 7 of the clones being submerged, on day 3 they had white bumps already....So hopefully when i swing by there tonight I'll have some roots.
