Seed sprouted but won't split?

Hey all, recently germed and planted a new seed. It sprouted very quickly, 2 days after germ. It shed the seed shortly after sprouting, but the head will not split.

The problem is that the sprout is growing tall, but the top hasn't split so it's top heavy so its causing the plant to lean over heavily.

Can I help the splitting along? It seems to only be stuck together at the top of the sprout.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's prolly the coating from inside the seed. When this happens to me, I carefully remove it and they split no problem.

Thanks a ton! I took a close look at the tip and there was indeed a little case holding the two soon to be leaves together, like an inner seed condom, easy to remove, thanks for the quick answer!

Moots, it is a paper thin bit of the sheath from inside the seed husk. Happens all the time.

If you spray a little water on it, it will soften and often fall off by itself. Or moisten it and wait a minute or two and, as moth says, just gently peel it off.

Then you little one can spread its "wings" and be a happy camper.

Good luck with the grow.
