My C99 X NL

Hi All,

I have been hanging around for awhile, thought I would share a couple of pics from my garden. About 4 years ago I created my own strain. I mated a Bros. Grimm C99 female with a Sensi Seeds NL male. They are 9 days into flower. Thanks for stopping by.

I have also included a couple of pics from my homemade bubble cloner. A tuperware container with a air stone on the bottom.

Peace,

C99 X NL day 9

Strange Purple Pheno C99 X NL I have been growing this strain for a few years and this is the 4th or 5th time this has happened. I am not sure where the purple comes from.

Any comments? The purple pheno has shown itself 5-6 times over the last 4 years or so of growing this strain. I have been unable to figure out why this pops up.

What a beautiful malformity! I've never seen a plant with the inner most part of the leaf and all the calyxes turn such a vibrant purple! I am curious since you've had this happen before, is the taste, smell and/or potency any different/better/worse from the other phenos? If it is better in any way, that would be the "keeper" pheno to clone the hell out of.

Thanks to all for stopping by. This is my first grow thread. I am enjoying sharing.

cough_cough_eer & Budgrinder thanks for stopping by

Zilaniz-thanks for the comment.

POd-As far as the taste from what I recall it had a earthy, hashy, blackberry flavor to it. I also remember that it was incredibly smooth.

cemchris- I have always been a fan of NL. I wish I had kept a mom from my original batch of NL seeds from a few years back.

hilljack- Thanks, I like it alot also. I asked the graphics guru here to come up with something, I can take no credit for the design, it is a cough_cough_err original.

Relic- I took two cuttings from the plant prior to going into flower. Prior to flowering the plant was not showing much vigor, and no purple traits at all. But since I have made my little cloner I have been taking cuts from just about every plant that shows female preflowers before to going into flower.

The last time it happened was about two grows ago. I made this cross a couple of years back. I got about 175 "keeper" seeds from it. In the past I did not clone. I grew everything out from seed. I just recently began to clone maybe 6 months now.

As far as the smoke of this pheno, from what I remember the potency was different from my usual C99 X NL. Not quite as strong and more of a relaxing couchy type buzz. Not overwhelming couchlock but more like "lazy weed." So it is leaning more toward an indica in my opinion. The smell is almost non-existant. There is a hint of the wonderful C99 citrusy smell, although tonight I detected a hint of coffee type smell from it as well.

As far as the taste, from what I recall it had a dark, earthy, hashy, blackberry flavor to it. I also remember that it was incredibly smooth.

I would say that it is really no better and no worse than the 2-4 other phenotypes that I typically get from my cross. Out of the 5 or so phenos (including this one) I typically experience from my cross I would say this one is a 3 overall a middle of the pack for me. I usually get one predominant phenotype from this cross that shows a little more Cindy to it, which is my preference.

Out of the two cuttings that I recently took from this plant, I plan on keeping the most vigorous one and turn it into a mom.

I made the C99 X NL cross originally hoping to increase yield, and just because I thought I would play a bit. I had two nice strains to start with so I thought I would see what I could come up with.

As far as this pheno goes, like I said it did not show a lot of vigor early on, I flowered it at about 14" and it maybe stretched 2", very little stretch at all. It started to show purple about 3-4 days into flower, I was like "WOW, this is awesome, I am glad I took a couple of cuttings from it."

Thanks for your interest. I will continue to post pics as it flowers.

Here are a few more pics from tonight. Sorry about the quality of the pics. My camera is not that great for this type of phototography. I am hoping Santa brings me a new one. Heh Heh.

It is starting to show beautiful little trichs forming, including on the leaves!! WOO HOO!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
