Few niggly questions

Hey can any of use shed some light, got a few questions i need to get my head round

About to do a big upgrade, getting an AC, co2 generator etc so quiet a big step considering i didnt know squat about either of them a week ago.

When using a mini split ac, do you guys still use full enviromental controllers that control everything like the sentinel chhc 4 or do use just go for a co2 controller, reasons for asking is the ac handles the heating, cooling and dehumidifies.

The co2 generators iv been looking at are the hydrogen pro, gen 1 and 2. If i went with the hydrogen it would be used drain to waste, anyone have a rough guess how much water this would use based on my room size. which is the better generator in your opinion, iv over specced on my ac so heat isnt really the deciding factor. My room is 1092 cubic feet. When reading up on the gen 1 and 2, they say they run 100% cooler than other generators is this true, so would it not give of much heat? Has anyone got one of these, how hot does it get?

The only place i can hang the generator will be at the side of the AC air handler, about 2m away and it will be above the dehumidifier on chains, would there be any problems with this with 3 units being close together

I can tell you that if your mini split has an inverter then you don't want to plug it into any controller, as that would take away any benefit of the inverter.
I didn't hook up co2 yet but I do run a dehuey and can tell you that you want to put all your heat source items as far away from the air handler as that is where the thermostat is located and it will make the unit run constantly.
Also, you will still need a dehuey. The dry mode on a mini split is not enough.

yeah its an inverter unit, i wont plug it into the controller then. Good point i wouldnt of realised that. Il go for the sentinel, iv got a dehuey aswell so il plug that into it, my heaters and a few fans for cooling.

If i went with a hydrogen pro generator, how big of a res would i need so i dont have to use a chiller, the res will be outside the grow room so it will be room temps. Iv read if you have a big enough res then the heat of the hot water will disapate easier??

Most mini splits have the thermostat built into the indoor unit where the cold air comes out, you cant have a remote thermostat or hookup a normal thermostat to a mini split. Some mini splits come with a remote wired thermostat, but they don't act as the temperature probe, just cooling control.

if you get a mini split make sure you get brass threaded sealed quick connect line set with the unit, or you need to get a vaccuum pump, vaccuum guage and refrigeration manifold to pull vac on the line set. Also make sure that the company charges the line set with refrigerant if it is needed.

Also how cold does it get outside where you are? most mini splits will only work to -10c. A mini split heat pump will normally all you to cool even in -18C.

thanks for the reply, yeah il look out for the quick connect line set, save me a load of hassle. In the winter about -15c at the most, summer about 25c, the mini split iv got my eye has a heat pump.

Most places that sell mini splits will also have the pre flared line sets with the brass flare nut already installed. But, you still have to vacuum the line set once it's wrenched on.
Their are mini splits available that come with a quick connect/disconnect line set but they are model specific. The line set on them comes attached to the indoor unit and the other end has a latch type of coupler that clicks onto the outside unit. The line set is filled with gas and capped at the coupler. Here one unit like that..http://unionaire.us/catalog.php?categoryId=18
You CANNOT buy just that type of line set and retro fit it to another mini split.
So unless it is a true quick connect mini split like the one in the link, you will have to have the line set vacuumed.
