What's new

anyone using magnum xxl or raptor?

I need a new setup for my veg room and wondering if anyone using these reflectors can tell me how good they disperse light.
Is there alot of hot spots and do they direct light much wider then the size of the reflector? Thanks.

I have two of them, the 6"er's. I replaced two SS2 hoods with these and the difference in light pattern is amazing.
My flower area is about 8x5 and the two Magnums cover every single inch.
My SS2's had real bad hot spots, especially with 1000 watters. The Mag's have much less. Still a hot spot right under the bulb but not nearly as bad.
I kick myself for not buying these first...

i use a 6" Magnum with a 1k bulb in a 4ft 2" sq room best hood money can buy ,

Thanks for the helpful reply, Im hoping to get by using just one in a 5x5 area and keeping it atleast 18" from the canopy hopefully it will spread the light enough if they do get that close to the reflector.

1 of my plants went outof control and was 3" from the glass and was fine . what u going to run 1k ? will fill 5x5 great

heres mine in my 4ft 2" sq room

atm in sucking though the hood but will swap it around when room is emply to blowing as it sucks smell in . the seal on them isnt very good compared with ss2 and blockbusters
ss2 and blockbusters have a fixed glass and rubber seal . what swings down when u unsqrew the thumb bolts .. the xxxl the glass slides out at 1 end ..

Im going to run 1k, yes. Im tired of screwing around with multiple 400's, thanks for the helpful replies guess I just have to go buy one now.

I am running Raptors. Great hoods, but I hate the fact that they don't have a hinged glass. You have to remove the securing screws and take the bottom frame/glass out (heavy/pain in the butt) to clean the inside of the glass.

There's another company about the same size with a hinged hood. I believe they are called Bigfoot. May want to look into them as well.
