Voidlings plan for stealth grow

Yesterday I laid the plywood down and glued the frame for the back on one piece and glued up the frame for the front. Two sides down, now to connect them together so I can get the other four sides.

Yes, I'm liking. I like the frame. Did you wind up going 45 degree cuts or did you notch those?

Thanks yall.

The frame on mine is half lapped or notched. The first set of photos I posted are of the actual frame before I glued it together. I did end up putting numerous screws into it instead of just relying on glue. Better safe than sorry.

Tomorrow should come my shelf and compartments. Figure out my intake and exhaust as well as my ballast placement.

Still waiting on my seeds to come in. My last 10 bagseed I've put to germinate hasn't had a single seed pop. It was a bag of random seeds a friend collected over the last 5 years. I haven't had the best luck popping them but this is the first 0 out of 10. Last time I got 3.

I need work bad for getting more gear. I've got pc fans I'll probably try using for now but they're noisy. I want to get some led lights for veg and then for flower. I also want to get a tissue culture kit.

I've got an autoflower seed for free with my order. Only real way to clone it would be tissue culture. Would love to get it cloned and multiply and plant it outdoors come spring. Could also help fill my cab faster to get going

Ran into a snag in my planning. I'm going to be leaving most of the top section open for a shelf to help a little with the stealth. I was looking at two little cabinets, one on each side, to house the fans and filters along with hiding the electrical. I'd come up with 10" x 10" x 16"tall. Problem is the ballasts are 19.25" long.

Now I'm debating on a ducting along the back wall of the lower part with a fan blowing into it from the veg side. Duct runs through the wall into veg where I have both ballasts in the ducting to get air blowing directly over them and then a bigger fan exhausting both veg and flower side through a filter.

Its either that or I do 10" square boxes on both sides and mount the ballasts inside the flower room where air won't be blowing directly over them. I'm not sure which would be better for cooling the ballasts since the air from veg would be warm to start with.

any thoughts?

So I'm calculating my flower side at 8.44 cubic feet and the veg side at 6.25 cubic feet. So the Stanley or Lasco would be overkill with it's rating of 265cfm. And that's if I could fit it.

So I either need two smaller fans to run one on each side, that fit in 10"x10" or less, or run one small fan and one big fan to extract both compartments out one side using ducting.

If I run a wooden box for a duct should I put my ballasts in it to have air moving over them more.

Thank you

Edit: would still need enough power to push through a scrubber/filter

Edit: I'm wondering if setting up an ozone generator in the 10"x10" would allow the air to mix well enough to kill all the smell. I found a "bare bones" for $89. It lacks case and fan but thats perfect for my use, website says it puts out 3600 milligrams of ozone per hour. Any thoughts on this?

Maybe I really should duct both cabs out one side to simplify air cleaning

Edit: I have a Sunon SP100A 1123xst.gn axial fan on hand. 115cfm but nearly 50 dBA. It runs off a/c at full power and was told would need a pwm to slow it down. This sucker is loud, sounds like a vacuum cleaner running in the next room.

I've got to get lights and ventilation in there now. I've already got an aloe vera under light, just put in seeds for vegetables that I'll put in here shortly.

I hate to disappoint you Tilt. The cab has made it into my bedroom as of today. Otherwise no change done to it yet. It looked fairly small inside the giant shop I built it in, looks giant inside my tiny bedroom. I have to get rid of my dresser to get it out of my doorway. Still need to buy fans and carbon filter, plus probably some veg side lights since I don't think 4 23(?) watt cfl's will cut it. I put the cab on hold to get an outdoor vegetable garden going.

So... here's some seeds I popped.

I think I have the right names on the pictures...

All 3 were started under 2 blue cfl's for a couple of days, then added two more reddish cfl's. Then put under two of my 55w vertical pl-l lamps. One is in the 3000k range and one in the 4000k range. Wishing I had bluer pl-l lamps on hand.

My phone camera is having a hard time with the mottled background. I'll get my normal camera ready and shoot against a solid color next time.

I've read the thread on making Dr. Buds tiny bonsai moms but not sure I get it. I don't want to kill my seedlings by trying to take a clone too early.

I'm hoping one of these will be good for picking me up, smiley happy types. I need to find a good one for sleep too but I don't have the money for more seeds now as I still need to finish my cab.

Edit: 10-13 days old

Epsom salt seems to really have helped the plants perk up and looks like time to take first clones. Still working on outdoor garden so haven't gotten any further with the cab.

Laminate might of been cheaper but it's paint. I took a sponge and ripped random chunks out of it cause I was too cheap to buy a sea sponge for this. Took a white base and let it dry, then dipped sponge into black paint and dabbed it all over as I saw fit. Now if only I could grow as well as I could build. I'm having plant problems. Cant wait to get my fans so I can use the cab.

I'm having some problems so let me know what I should do with these things.

Fruity Chronic Juice - this is a short compact plant. Not sure how to clone it with such small nodes.

Super Lemon Haze - I had some problems and epsom salt spray seemed to help. Top leaves seem fine but the older ones are turning brown and kind of crunchy.

Red Dragon - Was fine the day before but when I checked last night all the leaves are turned down like they're protecting the stem. Not sure what this is from.

Those plants are ready for a bigger pot. Open a thread in the infirmary. They will tell you 1/2 a dozen things but you should be able to narrow it down. On compact plants like that I raise the lights to make them stretch a little then when the nodes are far enough apart I take my clones then lower the lights. Also cut the dead leaves out. They have the potential to collect mold and infection. If you are doing organics a slurry of worm castings top dressed and watered in will act as a reset too. The red dragon looks like it is overwatered or underwatered. If overwatered poke more drain holes and squeeze the cup lightly around to get some of the water out of the cup. I wouldn't cut any clones until the plants perk up some. Clone success rate goes way up when taken from healthy plants. If you have never taken clones I would take a look at freezerboys cloner thread. I set up several different methods before settling on a jiffy tray filled with wet vermiculite and cheap cloning powder. 90%- 100% success rate at 2 weeks. I have to leave the dome on the entire time because my RH is very low. I tried bubbler, water, jiffy pucks, perlite, coco, seedling soil, cloning gel, etc. I practiced on bag seed plants and house plants till I got it right. Its all voodoo. The key is finding the voodoo that works for you.

I really need to get one of my digital cameras working. This cell phone isnt cutting it.

I should of gave a little info up front. I am growing in coco lightly mixed with perilite. I am using General Organics line (BioRoot, BioWeed, BioMarine, Grow and Bloom are the ones I have). I have epsom salt and lime again. I am growing them under 2 55w pl-l's suspended vertically.

I'll try repotting them tonight. I've got 32 ounce I can go up to for now. Got both tall and thin as well as short and fat. I'm afraid that repotting killed my last plant as I didn't cover the clear container and coco seemed pretty warm and moist after that.

I keep holding off on pulling my clones as I figured I'd be better off getting the plant healthy first. But I'm running into one problem after another with them.

I'll pull the dead leaves off as well when I repot them.

I was pretty sure the red dragon was fairly dry when I watered them. I've heard not to let coco dry completey out but that too has happened a couple of times. That last little bit of moisture seems to go fast. Repotting should help for a little bit.

I practiced on bag seed for a couple of months now but lacking a decent setup, not the best of luck. 5 out of 6 I got to germinate (bag of seeds spanning back 5 years or so) turned out male. I did practice taking a few clones during that time. In fact the female I grew out was a clone as I managed to kill the plant it came off of. I have cloning gel (clonex I think) and coco.

I wasnt sure about going to the infirmary as I lack gauges and meters for testing ph, ec, and what not. I even need to go get new thermometers as well at this point. I'm going the po boy way right now unfortunately.

Thank you so much for your help. I'm going to go get on that now. Thanks

Edit: let me know if my pics in my previous post arent showing up for you

The FCJ died. Oops. Fortunately the clone took root.

The SLH leaves went droopy and limp. I've been having to go out of town on weekends and temps got to 83 degrees. Not sure how to bring it back :(

Red dragon is getting better fortunately.

I'm down to one small fcj clone and it's leaves are turning light green to yellow now.

I don't have enough equipment to be running organics in coco I suppose.

My second slh seed came up with real small leaves and was already partially brown. The red dragon seed never popped. Guess this just isnt working out for me. Part of my problem is hot room temps to start with :(
