1-3 weeks more. The bubba needed tying. I do it over a couple days and as needed.Purple bubba needed no tying as the branches are super strong.
I really want this to be my sole growing style but I also need some room for error so I will keep doing coco as well. In veg this system is outathisworld, but the buds on the hydro bubba are a lot smaller than the coco ones. My helper thought the ppm pen read 180 and it was saying x10, so he overdosed em and then added even more boost so I'm getting yellow leaves on the big girl since the n was overshadowed by the o.d of boost. Got the water balanced now I'm hoping she'll pull through but a week of high nutes caused some damage I think. Big pots of coco are winning for peace of mind and stability but I really want to get this system to the point where I am more confident all around. My new veg system got off to a bad start but It's now starting to work after a month of losses so I will be paying the price.
This system could virtually run itself hands free with an auto topping res. I am hands on an It gets human attention everyday. I don't even use timers for my lights. I have had to really challenge myself and push out of my comfort zone to do this.
I would stick with your ebb and flow but try one or 2 of these on the side.
good luck
On a positive note this system is super dynamic and grows huge plants fast, never seen growth like this before. My veg system is firing on all cylinders now and the flower girls are doing good.

A quick question for the disciples of Heath. How hard does my water have to register before I chose the hard water Ionic Grow over the regular version? The water in this area runs about 50PPM out of the tap. What do I lose/ gain by going with one over the other? Thank you in advance for any info you can provide.

If its only 50 the regular should be OK, thats not very hard at all really.

Ps; You must be a laid back sort of guy, one post since Aug '09 :)

Im Back!! a big thanks to all the knowledgeable growers (you know who you are) who have kept the thread going whilst iv been away :tiphat: and to all who have asked questions or just called in for a look.

It looks like Cyat has it nailed I wondered if I dare post up any of my pics ;) anyway great to be back and keep an eye out for my aeroflo grow which I will post up in a few days it has a few tweaks as usual.

On with the grow, here is one of my chiesels I wanted to show you what a plant looks like completely untrimmed, I normally thin out the weak growth and tidy up the bottom of the stem but on this grow it is el natural.

On the outside of the plant there are two 600w shades facing the plant and as usual in the centre (there is another plant outside of the pics) there is a 600w vertical bare bulb.

So as usual I am still experimenting with different things, the outside shades are switched alternatively so only one shade is on at a time the timing is 6 hours and then the other shade is on for 6 hours, the centre vertical bare bulb is on for the usual 12 hours. So in effect each of the two plants gets 1200 watts at any one time.

The plant was vegged for three weeks to a hight of 24 inches it is now 4 weeks into flower and it is 60 inches high and about the same across.

Welcome back Heath.
I enjoyed your contributions over at ***** before it went belly up. I especially liked the pine armoire. That was 1st class.
I also enjoyed some of your free beans from Doc.
The C4xBR was nice.
Keep up the good work.

You`re likin those flippin lights back and forth huh ?....Looks like Chiesel`s likin em as well.....

Peace......Freds....:ying:....

Good seeing you around, Heath - question for ya - you ever mess around with a shorter cycle "flip flop"?

Instead of six hours for each light on the perimeter, did you experiment with going down to 2 (or even 1) hours per cycle? Just curious, and thanks for all your threads...........your vert grow at RIU was the inspiration for my current 90 plant vert SOG.

Thanks again for all your contributions.

I know this isn't necessarily on topic of this thread, but i was wondering if there were any information available about the 6x6 vert unit that Heath/DHF ran a while back? I've been looking on the net for some info about it, but can't come up with anything. Thanks in advance, if anyone is able to provide a link or something for the information.

heath why do you have a shade on the outer light, is there a reason. Also did you veg theses plants in the same place they are now, and how did you have the lights in veg(18hrs on for all 3 lights)
I forgot do you use airstones or bubblers in this setup or just recirculating water.

thanks

u never stop impressing me heath. always up to something new so its always fun to watch. Glad to hear your back into aeroponic with new tweaks from the one and only Mr. Robinson. Im looking forward for the day you break the 3g/watt barrier. who knows maybe a homemade vertical aeroponic grow will do the trick because we all know aeroponic buds are the most heaviest.I believe in you my friend :) keep it up champ the sky is the limit.
