you're very kind, i am getting better. my bros camera lets you see what changes are caused by changing settings right away on screen, so that helps, still had to use Maximos trick with the tissue paper to dampen the flash.

these ladies have grown real well, staying superbly healthy all the way. glad you enjoyed the pics, here's another one that came out well.
i took a whole bunch, they are on the SDxCJ thread in my sig if anyone is interested. still trying to learn how to take those really great shots that win potm. practice makes perfect i guess

first off, great looking plants gaius!! are you still runnin in coco?
a couple camera tips:
in macro setting get about 4-5 inches away then zoom as far as you want (without flash) - or, stand a few feet away and zoom in all the way (with flash). not sure what camera ur using but you should be able to decrease the strength of the flash in the settings on the camera
also, i have found that daylight through a window with no flash can take some great bud shots

the trouble is when i zoom in the camera can't focus anymore. for some reason more then a tinny bit of zooming makes it impossible for the camera to give me a focused shot, thats with 3 different cams and even using a tripod.
also the one setting called super macro has no zoom function. maybe if i zoom in first then switch to super macro?
will try some more, including sunlight if poss, although it's winter at the moment. you will find the rest from last session on my main thread about the SDxCJ grow on the last page. thanks for the tips...
