After a bunch of reading I am still confused. Which is the best, most effective way to kill thrips?

Hey. I used X Clude pt1600 pyrethrum spray 3 times 5 days apart. It hasnt failed me.
Had thrips twice, they suck I hate them more than any pest.

You have to stand far back from the plants, four feet is good and lightly mist them. When the thrips contact the spray they die. Then there eggs hatch a couple days later, fuckers, thats why the multiple sprayings. Its worked well for me. Hope it helps.

One thing I learned about thrips is there is usually a host plant most likely the weakest one, if you have one you may notice alot more thrips on that one I got rid of mine.

how about a MITICIDE??? like Floramite, I haven't seen Spider mites in a few years... it's $299.00 but well worth it. Before the arguement starts, I'd rather buy 1 bottle of Floramite and not have to use but $50.00 worth and be successful, than to spend $50 a week or day and keep seeing Spider Mites...

CASE CLOSED.

Do I read or what? Thrips? Pre-treat your soil or Coco for these babies, and you'll soon see they aren't that bad either.

Just a reminder to spray your bamboo really well if you reuse them like I do.

you can buy 4 Monteray Spinosad bottles for every one Azamax

and I have never needed anything better than Spinosad and been using it for years. it's good for Thrips and Mites.

I used spinosad once and they were gone for good. I had been trying to use neem oil sprays and it didn't seem to bother them too much until they got the spinosad.

Monterey Garden Insect Spray w/Spinosad

Great Stuff

Gets the blacklisted seal of approval too.......as if that means anything, hehehe
Just used it on a clone I recently acquired that was infested. Good stuff. Have kept it on hand for several years now.

azamax works amazing killed my thrips with one dose

if Canada could import and use spinosad, I would be using it in a heart beat, but we cant.

nematodes work really well, they attack the larva of the thrip and kill it, you mix it with your water. nema-todes are great when you are in flower and you dont wanna spray anything on your buds.

have used both .. the spinosad works better on thrips for less than half the price .. no brainer

WOW! Thanks peeps for the help.
I went to the shop the other day and guess what???? they were out of spinosad....imagine that. All she had was Azamax. So until I can find Spinosad (Monterey's, etc.) I had to spend twice the amount....and so far, I've seen a decrease in thrips but they're still in there. I'm going to spray again in the morning and hopefully they will all die real soon.
Thanks again folks!

Quick update.....(sorry for the double post)
After reading Jerry Baker's Giant Book of Garden Solutions I found a tonic to make by blending 2 cups of infected leaves with 2 cups of warm water. Diluted into a gallon of water and sprayed all of the leaves. While waiting for the spinosad to come in, perhaps this will work. I will update any progression. Thanks again to all that helped out!
