If you could only grow one strain from seed

What would it be? What would you recommend? The only real parameter is that it be done by late October in the northern hemisphere. Doesn't matter saliva or induce, or the yield really… just favorites.

I have this feeling, which could be totally wrong (and probably is), that seed companies are falling off… that the way to go now is cuttings - bonafied genetics that just need you to give them a home to be all they can be.

Any thoughts? Recommendations?

Mine would be Sensi star. Ive grown it every year since 2000. Its about all i grow now because its so superior to all of the other strains ive grown in potency. A planting hole that doesnt have an SS planted in it is destined to be a disapointing hole because whatever is growing in it is inferior to SS. Its easy to grow and has a pheno that finishes late sept, and another that finishes Oct. 10. The fems are wonderful

How many cups has the star won - 5? I think it is the most awarded, prize winning indica available on the market. If its entered, it wins. Growing it out next to some other strains will show you that the awards are deserved. The Black domina, Herijuana, G-13, Deep chunk and other "high quality" strains Ive grown dont come close to SS potency and arent in the same class category as SS. Its the most resinous strain ive ever seen. In the field on a sunny day, the plants look soaking wet with resin. When you have an amount in your rolling trey, you will have BIG piles of glands laying in the bottom of the tray. 1/4 bag of SS dumped on your tray will nearly produce a whole joint of nothing but glands at the end, from those that have fallen from the weed while rolling. It looks like the bottom of your tray is full of sand. Its a hashmakers dream plant.

Ive been buying Paradise Seeds for years. They are a very very reliable and dependable seed company. The owner is an honest and very talented fellow; his work reflects that talent and his seeds are dependable.

Wow, those are some surprising answers, not because of their quality but because in other threads i've read i dont think these strains are thrown around as often.

Wish crosses of Durban Poison and Skunk#1 were still floating around. Had some from sam the skunk man and it was awesome. Finished a little later but was dense and tight like it had been grown indoors.

I've been sniffing around trying to find a good knockout indica and put my order in for Paradise Sensi Star, a 5 pack of fems. Damn they're expensive, almost twice the price of their other offerings. They'll be going in the ground in late April at Lat 38.

Over the last 12 months, I have grown 25+ different varietals, from many different breeders, from seeds, with differing levels of success.

Now, out of all that seed stock, 250+ beans, which as a grower and smoker was my favorite in the end?

TGA Chernobyl is pretty f'n bad ass, and it finishes early. Next pick would be Shark Shock, which goes a bit longer than you may like.

You said TGA, oh god, that means the haters are lurking, I must say I've been happy with all of Sub's gear, JTR, AO, Deep Purple, Space Jill and 3D....all are stellar....JTR is a resin cake....I keep a Cleaner dom girl. She is blindingly potent, retard inducing herb. Everytime I mention him I get negative feedback for no good reason. I've not had problem 1 with TGA.

subcool or subfool, personally grown JTR, Vortex (liked that one) and Space queen. no herms and all decent smoke, only prob I have had is with the book and that but nowt against his strains.. also didn't like some stuff that went down in the past with him and his. but that aside the strains did the job.

At what latitude are you at?
If I could nail down that Sept. finishing pheno, that would be great.
Oct. 10, on the other hand, would require a dry month of Sept.(to avoid mold)
Which is something I don't gamble on.
