Active Intake Question?

I conveniently have a air condition vent on the floor could I rig a vortex style fan up to that for active intake? Or would it just be better to run passive intake? I don't want to kill the a/c unit or drill any holes if possible... Room dimensions 10x12x7 grow area 8x8 4x600w vertical bare bulbs and was planning on venting into the attic with another vortex style fan, running at night of course.:thank you::cathug:

I think that would cause negative pressure of the AC system so that's something to think about & if the ac IS on at the same time that's like spending $ on cooling the house just to blow it directly into the attic. I would try maybe if it's a scenario of just pulling the air through the ac from outside and into the attic and you'd probBLY definitely want a good back damper :smokeit:

Thanks for the reply, dunno what you mean by back damper... But I was thinking about that too... There are 2 a/c units for the house though, the only one used is dedicated to the master bedroom. I might be able to drill through the floor and use the bottom of the house as a lung room...

a back damper only allows air to flow one way. There is a damper that blocks if are tries to back flow, it only allows the air to flow one way.

Hmm, crazy never heard of that thanks for the info. Think I figured out an easy solution... taking out a window and replacing it with a piece of wood with in/out with hepa n carbon filters... not sure why I didn't think of that before. Nice grow btw!
