Paraguayan

So I was just reading up some stuff on international marijuana production and I was surprised to read that Paraguay makes up to 15% of the entire worlds marijuana, and that it is the major source country in South America vastly surpassing Colombia in production, and it supplies Brazil with 80% of its herb.

I was really surprised to read that because I never heard much about paraguay.

Anyone know much about the herb there? For all the production I never heard much about it. Any Brazilians grow out some bagseed?

Hi motaco
Is true indeed, Paraguay is biggest productor, famous and cheap paraguayan brick
Now even more commercial due mixed hybridated genetics, not old paraguayan last decade, was mythical and potent line for many southamerican ppl mostly argentinian whow well and better about them. Maybe look in north, Pedro Caballero area close to brazilian border

Can't speak to quality or the lack thereof, but the main reason it's so plentiful is Ciudad del Este. The wild, wild east. A place the law rarely visits and the point of departure for a lot of the mj grown in Paraguay and near Pedro Juan Caballero.

Oh I have no interest in going. Looks too dangerous for a gringo like me. I was just curious if anybody had seen any articles of interest, or specifically perhaps a brazilian growing bagseed.

I do seem to remember that article from a spanish magazine I think, where there were investigating mass produced wet brick and they might have been in Paraguay. I thought it was in Colombia though. It had a lot of good pics either way.

I'm trying to remember where that was posted. Maybe someone has it saved and can post a link.

Indeed, the "Three borders" area, where is CdE, turned into a large Mj producing area dring the mid-90s, but it's definitely not a producing place i'm interested in visiting. Lots of foreign genetics have been imported for the large scale ops overthere, and the place is packed with dodgy people(ex-kgb turned bodyguards, military from the dirty wars of paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina, dirty cops hidding from the law) & criminal organisations from all south America, serbia, russia, china, japan, taïwan & hong-kong, even Hezbollah cells are there.
The terrorists responsible for Louxor attack in 1997 are said to have fled there, and al qaeda has some people there too. Actually, after 9-11, they even thought about moving their base from pakistan's tribal areas to CdE, but due to too many FBI & Mossad-trained guys roaming the area, they renounced.

There must be funnier places to visit...

Irie !

Hey big thanks love. I spent a half hour or so looking for that and gave up. :thank you:

Its a shame to see so many of our members banned though. Dalai, moldy dreads, 4 seasons, etc. They are stacking up nowadays.

Blan K thank you for posting as well. Just what I was looking for!:tiphat:

hello. im local to the area.
the domestic product often remains unbricked and is actually quite good outdoor, which recieved an abusive cure. a watercure can rescue the worst cases. its always a good base for extracts. you crap crop at least twice a year. its very hard though to get something out of bag seeds. high herm-lowgermrate, even if you start from barely seedy bud.

i cant put my finger on the strains avaible, but its certainly not so many sativas (anymore). you often smell definate maroc or afghan-influences and effects are mostly mellow/chuckly.

if the growers werent such terribly lazy slobs and kill more males/bred a bit more selective they could be producing one of the worlds best outdoor. 12/12 all year pretty much, 2-3 for largescale, 3-4 harvests for smaller scales (with the 4th beeing very exhausting though) possible. good natural irrigation (besides in season 4 for smallscale)

yes, there is definately total garbage around. gets exported mostly though.

domesticly, with a above-average connection you can get nice buds with an occasional seed, low stemcount, free of ammonia smell, unbricked, sticky and satisfingly potent but with terrible cure (as in almost zero fermention)

a .3g-joint would be sufficient for a veteran stoner and apprentice stoner teaming up.

Welcome to ICMag spudro. Thanks for the info on your scene.

Good to hear decent bud is available too, what kinda prices does it go for?

tbh im not entirely new, some years ago back in the west i grew indoor and read mostly but posted occasionally.

prices are about 150 dollars for a rougly a pound. gringo tax included i guess

the salesmen dont believe in scales. you can either buy enough for a fat one you can smoke with 2-3 folks, 1-3 nuggets in a little flimsy cellophane "hose" tied on both ends (normaly used to make sticks of frozen water), or the same baggy with slightly less than a tennis ball in volume (translates to like 7-10g) for about 1usd and 5 usd respectively. from a cornerboy. if you want more he takes you to someone else whos holding bulk. there you buy by the "handful", an well-packed amount of what fits into the bowl you can make with your hands, for like 20 dollars. ranges between 40-50g. if you get a couple of those it gets cheaper

wholesale prices for brick are like 50usd/kilo if you get one. its hardly worth it though. good for edibles and extracts, but i still prefer the domestic.

btw: thats how most producing countries roll. the good stuff stays with the locals and the crap gets exported.
