Not all MG is created equal.

Not all MG is created equal.

What's on the underside of the damaged leaves? Almost looks like insect damage, i've seen spidermites cause similar symptoms before. If so i'd say the Dumpster strain is simply more resistant to the bugs than the other cuts.

Good call, SYA!
And I see no "Calcium deficiency" either.

The board's mentors are waiting for him to fill out the troubleshooting sticky before trying to offer better advice
Otherwise it's blind guessing and lots of effort spent digging for details.

MG for Tomatos includes micro-nutrients and works very well for Cannabis.
For growing with MG, consult Rusty Trichome.

Dude that's a sample picture of calcium deficiency from the infirmary forum here, not an actual picture of his plant.

i myself dont use MG but had a co worker old hippie, dead head as you can get.. He used MG blue bag and fish emulsion with the bloom booster from wally world. I will say his nugs were tastey as fock.. And the lung expansion was unbelievable.. Not once where after puffing with him did i say that puffage was harsh.. He grew mostly skunk until i hooked him up with schrom, green crack, tw, ecsd.. again same outcome great tasting puffage... So the rumors ime are false about harshness.. grow on and enjoy but try other soil mixtures at some point.. peace n pufs

miracle grow is cool. I liked to flush 4 weeks before chop when I used it.

problem is, it can burn your plants pretty bad if you're not using it below 1/2 strength.

you won't even see it comming. everything lush and green, next thing burnage.

I like to use shultz all purpose, cactus, and orchid now. a little bit more control over dosage and cheap home depot availability

if i was growing commercial i might invest in some heavy duty nutrient line, but for my personal grow it work just fine.

if u know what your doing, miracle grow will perform equal to anything on the market, soil included. u take there shag variety with the little fert pellets in it, just add tap water, skip even the lime in it, plants shyrocket n thrive, when they start to fade about 8 weeks into growth maybe a little more maybe a little less u just add bloom nutes with a touch of N and a decent flush at the end. youll be amazed. again hobbyiest are never satisfied n luv to waste money, flavour is in the genes n brought out by water n water only. i was amazed when i saw what mg produced n tasted like, shits truly a miracle right out the bag, no mixin necessary, everyone that goes the extreme route always has a huge headache, simplicity n know how are key.

fertilizer is fertilizer 5-5-5 miracle grow is the same as a bottle of liquid name brand 5-5-5. secong just because your feeding at 6.5 ph does not mean your soil is at 6.5 ph. in soil feed at 6.8 to avoid cal mag deficiencies as 6.4 is where you lock it out. check runoff of soil that means water the plant and collect a little water that comes from the bottom and do a ph test mae sure its always above 6.5 or else you get lock out. if you feed at 6.4 6.5 your definately going to run into deficiencies soe people are like well i run 6.2 and nothing i all good well you probably have a low cal mag feeding strain.

i blame all my frustrations since i joined this site, on the first thing i "learned" being to NOT use miracle grow. more perlite! More perlite!!! well, i have had nothing but crap, using LC#1 and even straight fox farm o.c. compared to my first MG plants. it's just awful. Then yesterday to find this on Mandella Seeds site just made me throw up. i am going to HD and get a giant bag of MG potting soil today and throwing out all my Pro Mix HG that i added even more perlite to, as well as all the LC#1 ferts. All my plants have tons of perlite in them and i am repotting every one today with mg.
Anyway mandella has a list of recommended soils: they recommend MG potting soil.
They have a list on soils NOT recommended: ProMix BX. as well as saying to keep the damned perlite OUT of your soils, other than trace amounts. f'ing great.... i have been able to obtain INCREDIBLE GROWTH but all my buds no matter what straIn have been No Colas, just popcorn popcorn popcorn garbage. hopefully removing perlite and tossing my 3 part GH nutes is going to produce colas. i dont understand why my plant in straight ocean forest crapped out tho, it is obviously more me to blame than perlite.

here is the link, and correction. Por Mix was not NOT recommended, but on their list of soils to AVOID! what do i do with the half a bag i got sitting here now? going out to my sisters farm.

click here: http://www.mandalaseeds.com/Guides/Soil-Guide#Product Information in North America

here is a great quote from that page:
"Adding a large amount of perlite/vermiculite (some growers add as much as 25%!) is a completely outdated practice from 30-40 years ago when there was only a very small selection of horticultural potting soil available for non-commercial gardeners. It is one of the unfortunate harmful practices in cannabis cultivation that many still cling to although they do not understand the reason or consequences. "

my dirt is at least 33% even more.

I love MG, just not the organic mix of bark. The pink bags are bomb and grow perfect plants with no defeciencies until rootbound. Grab a $5 no pest strip to lay in the room and your set.

What MG soil are you referring to "DaPurps"? The orchid mix or african violet mix? Both seem to come in smaller bags than the other types of MG. I have had good success with MG moisture control. Curious, how do some of you amend your MG soil? Lime? EWC? Straight from bag? Every bag comes filed with bugs, need to freeze it outside before use...

The violet mix is what i use. It drains well and is pre PH'ed almost perfect for MJ. I don't need nutes until flower usually

I wish i knew TruthorLie ! The gnats are the worst with MG soil but the Pest Strips work.

Yea i can only find it in the small 4$ bags..

heres a veg plant 30 days out and i never PH'ed my water, no nutes.

ive never had faster growth then with mg soils, even better then coco and so much less work, and to the nay sayers who think the fert pellets burn roots it clearly isnt so and if it is i look at like root pruneing n actually making a healthier root system.

nice plants dapurps, ive actually found my plants look much darker iin mg then yours do in your violet mix, and ive noticed that in others online here as well, might be that ph u talk about, looking good for 30 days, mg power.

apple what i would do is wiat for the leaves to show they need food which takes a while usually for me after flowering has already started so i go with a bloom nute with a low Nitrogen content, maybe need to feed twice/3 times and then its flush time, very simple

What type of bloom nute? I've been organic for a long time, and it has its uses. For me, that is for absolute head stash. I am looking to go back the other direction and focus on YIELD and my experience is synthetic can't be touched. If you time it right, flushing takes care of the rest that people whine about when saying only organic. Do MG carry any bloom nute? I have used 10-15-10 and their tomato which is 18-18-21(I think). Both are pretty high in N. Anything else?
