220w PLL or 150w hps?

Hi there!
I'm going to start a micro grow in a couple of weeks but I am
trying to decide which lighting to use.
And would like some input.

My cab space will about 25" L x 18.5" Deep x 35" High.
My ventilation will be 3 or 4 80mm pc fans with a cfm of 34 each.
With passive intakes, maybe one fan blowing in.

I'm either going to use 4 55w PLL with a workhorse 8 ballast or a single remote ballasted 150w hps.

I would think the 150w hps would yield more, but the PLL's might be easier to cool.

I've seen pretty good results on this forum from the 55w PLL's.
But the 150w hps would be cheaper, I'm just concerned it will be harder to keep cool.

So my fellow growers which do think would yield more?
and which do you think would be easier to cool?

As far as heat, its all the same. HPS, MH, LED, PLL. Watt for watt, they all produce the same amount of heat.

1 watt = 3.41 BTU per hour

Both HPS/MH and PLL lamps can have the ballast remotely mounted, which takes away some of that heat.

If you use 220 watts PLL, that will make MORE heat than the 150 HPS. The advantage of the PLL though, is that the heat is distributed across a much larger surface area than the single HPS bulb. That allows you to place the lights closer to your plants. Than with the HPS.

Considering you only have 35" of vertical height, the PLLs may be your better option. I would also use a ScOG method since you have limited vertical height. You will also get better a yield with the PLLs that way, as they have OK canopy penetration, but not as good as a HPS.

HPS are easily cooled with a cool tube. Makes a BIG difference, even vs. running a regular air cooled hood.

The problem with the PLLs is that there is no way to cool them easily besides placing an exhaust fan or two above them and letting the heat naturally rise and be extracted. With the HPS, you can FORCE air over the bulb and out of your cab.

Thanks for the info surgexvb, forgot to mention I as planning on doing a scrog.
I'm not a fan of cool tubes, I had one on my 400w grow and although it was great at removing heat, it was a major PITA to keep clean, so much so that i vowed to never use them again.

I'm leaning towards on using a 150w hps, as I found one at HTG supply for about $69 which includes a bulb and a reflector and already has a pre-wired remote ballast, much cheaper than buying 2 workhorse 8 ballast, they're about $40 each at 1000bulbs, plus I don't have to do any wiring if I get the HPS.

I'm pretty sure I can keep temps at bay by using 3 80mm fans, ambient temps in my grow space never goes above 75F, for now anyway.
