The new legislation requires hydro shops to be licensed now,,, from what I've been told only 2 shops in SA have applied for this license,, that was months ago,, neither of them have heard anything from the Govt Licensing Board/Panel since then.

The main hydroponic retailer in New Zealand was shut down 2 days ago after a 2yr under cover police sting. 250 employees arrested, 120 grow ops busted and now we are going to be in the same boat as SA. Proof of Id for every purchase including nutrients. WTF is the world coming too?

Any body got any recipes for good hydro nutes from scratch i.e dry form?

Think this may help.

http://www.integralhydro.com/ (note - Every CD comes with a unique identifier that gives authentic purchasers access to a secure website where formulas, lab analysis, and technical advice are available)

Seems to me that we don't need hydroponic stores anyways. I can buy bulbs at my local lighting supplier or on ebay and everything else through any number of places.

It's weird as I havent noticed any shops close down. One opened up not far from me about 3 months ago; doing a roaring trade?? :chin:

I almost find it humorous. Since 2001, all sorts of draconian measures have been introduced to end the SA cannabis industry (an industry estimated to be close to if not bigger than the wine industry) and still, after everything they've thrown at the growers, the price of an ounce has gone up maybe $20 $30 in that time and pounds are so variable they can be around the same price as 2001 depending who's selling them. And still, kg after kg heads interstate in vacuum sealed bags in car boots and hidden in freight. They should just legalise and be done with it, cant they see its pointless?? No matter what the risk, some people will grow anyway, many because they need the money and know of no other way. This is especially the case in the outer suburbs.

Sorry, turned into more of a rant than intended.

Don't know how true that is. A load of South Australian stores have closed in the last 5 years. since the CEN was binned. They should just legalize though but in fascist Australia I wouldn't put any bets on that for the next 10 years. Aussies have been too complacent - just so long as they have their prawns on the BBQ and a can of piss in hand. Now they have one of the most regulated and controlled societies in the world. Do what I did and leave..... :gday::wave: USA, USA Californ-eye-aye!

Anyone seen 'prince of pot'? I seen a few documentary's, id be really careful when shopping at these stores as in New Zealand they busted the owner of one of the large hydro stores..complete policing stuff up but they spent millions of dollars doing this. They watched people coming in and out of hydro stores and followed them home if they looked suspicious, busting alot of growers.

Mate, I used to work in the hydroponics industry and I can tell you now hydro shops are intermittently watched. It's pretty simple stuff. Customers who you have no idea about come and buy gear. For all you know they could be connected to organised crime (then again SAPOL claim 80% of SA stores are connected to bike clubs and/or organized crime) so the cops follow them to your store. Next thing you know you are linked to organized crime and you've got strange cars sitting close to the store. It's very basic math. Cops hate hydro stores and they know that most customers who visit hydro stores aren't growing tomatoes (agricultural growers sure as hell don't buy overpriced liquid nutrients from stores) so they make easy and effective targets to collect intel - vis a vis make busts.

And yes every hydroponic store in NZ was targeted in a massive 2 year undercover operation where cops infiltrated the stores, purchased gear for growing cannabis, in some cases were sold clones and even weed by store operators and the operation (Lime) resulted in over 250 busts of store owners/operators and their clients.

The government laws are only harsh in S.A/OZ is because they want their cut! they tax smokes/beer/pokies etc and they are pissed they aint getting the 10% of the 1+ Billion each year.
PGR'S should stay out of Australia there is already too much rock hard skunk around, what happened to the smooth sativa outdoor?
I Assume the S.A hydro stores will be on their best behaviour and will still make money as long as there is a demand.
As to going to a Local Shop, use a mates car, turn off gps and phones, use cash and dont take your goods straight to your setup location.

For those thinking of buying over internet, Beware! especially Ebay. Dont use your card or details shit can be back tracked (they are watching). The new $40+++ billion Australian Broadband Network "scheme" is not for faster porn or business intuitive.
Its a new line, new system, the old (current) internet will be shut down to a 100% controlled & tracked internet, thats right everything you do will be feed into supercomputers to build a profile on you... anti government sites will be censored/blocked etc.

The new laws wont stop the big boys growing, just the mum and dad growers, paying taxes trying to get by and having a lil bit of there own supply.
New powers to the socialists will hit hard in the next decade and if we don't stand up Australia and remember our constitution we will go into a new dark era!

Be Smart Outdoors and dont forget to slip a lil bit of Kelp, slop a lil worm, slap a lil Molasses, wrap the roots with a some Humic/Fumic & wear a Potash Hat So you Dont get burnt He He
