Calling the cops on a drunk driver is a load of shit. I just got one in illinois and it was nearly $5,000. We pay the police to do a fucking job. If you have a problem with a drunk driver cut them off and kick there ass. Fuck all cops.

Gotta say your wrong sweet tooth lover...if i hear a guy beating on his girl im gonna try n help, i am not worry about if he is growing, fuck him, if people think gettin into a situation makes it worse think about if it was your sister getting her ass beat....when people are not able to stop a wrong themselves, call the cops, simple...i think people are off base on this issue, the main reason i am no in favor of cops is cuzz they enforce a unjust law against me...if you take that away i just have problems with certain people on a personal level....jerks in all walks of life...anyways rant over...peace n puffs
I would say 9/10 times that this happends the girl could call the police herself and doesn't. So that makes it your responsibility? And if cops enforce "unjust laws against you" than how can you trust any of their judgement?

Yes they enfore it against everyone, if what your saying is true than all laws are unjust? i get that others may think other law are unjust, i am refering to cannabis prohibition tho, a single unjust law, if you think i am on the fnece your wrong...i am not breaking anylaws an as such have no reason to fear...i give people the benifit of the oubht i have only rang the police one time in my life, it seems people here think that calling the police for any reason is wrong...maybe because you no longer respect the rule of law because of unjust laws.....i am in favor of laws...if that rubs anyone the wrong way so sorry...

Maybe you need some reminding:

the main reason i am no in favor of cops is cuzz they enforce a unjust law against me.

Had a friend who called the cops on himself one time... He kind of forgot he had a grow going.

His house was broken into and the took about $20,000 of recording gear. His flower room was well hidden but his veg was in his bedroom closet.

So the cops are going through the house and he's showing them the studio, and he's not even thinking about his grow (that's just a hobby) he's in a shitfuck all my shit is stolen frame of mind.

So the cops walk in his bedroom and look around, and one tries the closed closet door... thank goodness it was locked... my friend just said he had the keys around somewhere but he didn't think anything was missing from his closet. The cop looked at him kind of funny but didn't say anything... then the cop sees a baggie on his nightstand and holds a little gram bag of cheap schwag and asks him "what's this?"... "Oh that's not mine" my friend says immediately. The cop is just "yea right"... "sure".

My friend (let's call him bob) says "I'm not saying I don't smoke weed... but I don't smoke that weed"

They said OK and finished their report and he got his equipment paid for through his renter's insurance.

Bob figured out afterwords that the thieves must have popped his door open and had seen the plants so they left a little weed for him. They didn't find the flower room or I'm sure they would have ripped it. Bob was a little paranoid from then on...

Never called the cops before and won't unless there is a person missing, my things missing (in a situation where I can't go after the person myself), or one of my close persons were attacked (and again in a situation where I can't go after them myself). FUCK THE POELICE :)

Cops...don't even get me started. One time I fired an employee and of course he got mad and next thing I know he's assualting me. Shoulda called the cops but didn't. Finally the guy leaves and next thing I know 7 cop cars come sliding in like a raid or something. The guy I fired called 911 and turned all the facts around and said I assualted him. I kept telling em I wanna file a complaint against the guy I fired but never got to do so. They wouldn't even talk to the numerous witnesses. Next thing I knew I was off to jail. Biggest bunch of BS!!!
I've had a couple other unfortunate run-ins with the "punks in blue", thru no fault of my own, where someone else was breaking the law and someone else called. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Both times they didn't take law breaker to jail and scolded me as though I'd done something wrong. More stupid BS!
Might be some good cops out there but I haven't met one...
After all that I'd dial .357 instead of 911. Much better results!
Phuck cops!!! I'll say it again Phuck Cops!!!!

so drunken driving has been mentioned 5-7 times here, as a possible reason to call 911... wouldnt it be reckless driving though ?? how can you tell the driver is drunk from outside the car ...behaving erratically maybe, but drunk ??

im in total disagreement on this point...i dont call the cops on people for poor driving

Could just be a diabetic with low blood sugar. Not likely but seen it before. People are too quick to make assumptions alot of the time IMO. Don't stick your nose where it don't belong. And oh yea Phuck Cops!!!

one time in college....i was hanging out with a group of my college friends who are "squares"...basically rich kids from the burbs who arent exactly street smart. they were from malibu beach, los gatos, rich places. they came to SF (where im from) and we decided to go out...we end up at what we thought was a friendly kegger. after 5 minutes it was evident we were not invited...the kegger was full of hoodlums in hoodys and pretty soon they started to hassle some of my square friends. my dumbass friend mentioned he was from SoCal and it seemed to piss everyone there off.. we left the kegger, no fighting or anything, just them yelling alot of gang bullshit. soon after the hoodlum group followed us to a bus stop and started threatening about pulling out a gun if we didnt leave...we kept saying WE ARE LEAVING but they were braindead and drunk and probably liked the power they felt picking on some college nerds. they drove up in a beater and were pretending to reach into the trunk through the backseat to grab a gun...shouting out gang sets, "fuck socal" etc. really retarded monkey business. they circled the block probably 3 times while we waited for the bus, each time i was expecting to hear POP POP POP but they would just roll up and talk more smack about pulling out their gun.

so a decision was made to call the police. once the hoodlums saw people on their cellphones calling police they made a quick getaway.

personally i wish i was there with my local friends and it would have been a different story, but i was accompanied by some pretty scared college kids and we had two girls with us as well who was scared out of their mind..basically people who have no business being in that kind of street gang bullshit....so i think it was a decent reason i call the pigs. they came through and everything was good, put out a search for the car and waited until the bus came.

How is a diabetic with low blood sugar driving erratically in a car not an emergency? He could be having a seizure and dying... not to mention other people.

I'm not a big fan of cops... don't get me wrong... but "Could just be a diabetic with low blood sugar."... That would get me more alarmed than a drunk driver.

As far as what I've done... when I see someone driving erratically I get some distance between us... I've never called the cops though.

This is a stupid question Who,imo,As adults in civilized society there are loads of reasons to call the cops, dont be actin like ya should never call em!!That dope dealer mentality always rubbed me wrong,YOU CALL THE COPS WHEN YA GOTTA CALL THE COPS,PERIOD!!:[/FONT]

have you ever called the cops is a stupid question ?? just call them when you gotta call them ??

to all who would never call the cops. what if your daughter, sister, mother or whoever who love was kidnapped and you had no idea were or who. you mean to tell me you wouldnt call the cops. what the fuck are you gunna do call the punisher.

why does the government need to provide all of the enforcement though...even in the most extreme situations such as an abduction/kidnapping, we are led to believe that the police are our best choice for resolution...

I dont call cops..... ever.....

If I can't get out of the situation myself, there is no way in hell cops are gonna be helping me.

I get the flipside, the cops called on me, well, used to. I'm a bit more quiet now.

This one time I got the cops called on me for, and I quote "splashing and talking" (hot tub). Thanks a lot you cockblocking pieces of shit, it wasn't even that late (<midnight).

the kicker is that they just decided to waltz on down the side of my house, because "the gate was open", yeah fuckin right it was open. They got a drunken earful about trespassing and that I KNOW they fucked up on this one.

little do they know they walked right by my veg/clone room.

I still fuckin' hate cops though.

Not saying that's not an emergency, it's a bigger emergency IMO, just saying people shouldn't always assume.

This is kind of a dumb question. if your a trained medical professional who is also a MMA fighter who carries a gun and roles around with a support team and 1/2 million dollars worth of equipment, then you might not ever have to call 911. for the rest of us we use 911

Ive called 911 several times. for those of you who have never had to, you are very lucky. when you get out in the world and gain more life experience you will probably have to do it at some point. when you come across a car accident were people are dead or dying or you see a house on fire and there are no fire trucks there yet or if you see people stabbing each other in the street, you will call. I travel a lot and I have seen lots of bad things that i am not happy about.

If im driving behind a car that has just took out a couple of mail boxes and just missed the kids sitting at the bus stop then i would consider calling 911. but assuming they are drunk is stupid, they could be having a seizure or stroke and you calling 911 could save there life and others.

As far a reporting robberies, fights, and drunk drivers. I dont ever call 911 unless i think someones life is in danger and there is nothing i can do to make the situation safe. If i get robbed I dont need the cops to help me figure out who done it.

when i lived in the northeast i read a story in the newspaper about some wanksters who call the cops on themselves when they were getting robbed. the robbers got away and the cops caught them with 20 something pounds. snitching on yourself is stupid. you'd be be better off giving the robbers your shit, do some recon, call some friend, and go get your shit back.

The bottom line is use 911 only when necessary. Its a system that is in place to help save lives.

Dont snitch on yourself or others!!!

I would call the cops if I saw someone kicking in my neighbors door or stealing my neighbors car. As long as I knew he didn't have a legal grow there AND I was unable to do anything about it myself.

I'm not sure of the laws regarding stepping into a burglary armed at another persons home.

But I've never dialed 911.

edit: your thread is titled 'ever call the cops??' and the poll is titled 'call 911'.

I would absolutely call 911 in case of medical emergency. :D

"Hells Angels arrested in Forestville pot theft"
( apprehended & charged with suspicion of felony theft)

By MARY CALLAHAN
THE PRESS DEMOCRAT
http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20090911/ARTICLES/909119977

Two members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club were arrested Friday morning after a Forestville woman reported the theft of some marijuana plants from her backyard.

The two East Bay men were stopped in a car on River Road in Fulton by Sonoma County sheriff's deputies responding to the theft about six miles away on Trenton Road, authorities said.

The victim said she had been growing the plants in her backyard for medicinal purposes, the sheriff's department said.

She called for help shortly after 6 a.m. saying two men with machetes were in her backyard taking the plants, the sheriff's department said.
As they were leaving, she got a vehicle description, which deputies converging on River Road used to pinpoint the suspects' vehicle, authorities said.

Several plants measuring an average of 6-feet-tall were seized as evidence when deputies stopped the car, officials said.
The two men were arrested for suspicion of felony theft, as well as possession and transportation of marijuana.

The suspects are Jeffrey McThorn, 30, of Newark, and Shalako Irons, 39, of Oakland. They were held in the Sonoma County Jail with bail of $10,000 each.
Both identified themselves as members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, authorities said.
