poll: ever called the cops ?? please describe instances when you would 911 ...

I called 911 to report a drunk driver, i was behind them as they decided to play chicken with a minivan (mom,dad & 3 kids). As I'm describing the drunks vehicle the 911 dispatcher asks if i was involved in the incident, i explain no i am just a witness.... then this dumb cop dispatcher tells me unless I'm directly involved they cant do nothing for me... So needless to say i was furious.

As i'm telling the 911 dispatcher to fuck off! i see in my rearview mirror that the minivan had pulled into a grocery store parking lot (as i imagine to take stock of there situation and what not) well the drunk driver most of seen them as well and ebrake 180's in front of me... I'm like WTF!!

Turns out the drunk has 2 buddy's riding with him there 30 sumthing douchebags... I see him whip into the parking lot after the minivan.. I'm back on the phone with 911 i get the same bitch dispatcher as before now I'm irate yelling at this POS to get some cops to the scene explaining the situation, the drunks car aswell as the minivan full of kids to this piece of lazy trash dispatcher, she gets butthurt and is now threating me with police action against me for cussing her out and making a false report blah blah blah.. again i tell her to get fucked and hang up..

As i pull into the parking lot.. i see the drunks 2 fuckwitt buddy's harassing and taunting the father driving the minivan, to get out and fight them.. So at this point im like hell no!! I aim for the 2 A-holes and feed my truck gas... as im about to run over these jagoff's i grab the ebrake sliding to a stop feet away from them.. they shit them selves with fear at this point, i jump out with a collapsible baton, as they see me sling the baton open they start to make for the safety of there car.. as they do there buddy driving throws it into drive and bails on em.. should have seen their faces as their fellow asshat took off without them... I start after em, looking to bust somebody up.. they find there inner Carl lewis and run for there worthless lives..

Father of the minivan thanks me for getting involed and we go are separate ways..
Was a eventful afternoon.. Haven't call the cops since.

I never called them but I asked walgreens to after some old lady walked off with $150 cash I left on top of the in store ATM. everything was caught on camera, crime never solved. fucking old ladies

With 3 kids I`ll call them if I spot a drunken driver near our home or my kids are treathen in any way by an adult. Reason is that these kind of people wouldn`t be able to walk for a year or so, if I got them first. Would be wrong to my kids to do time because of some lowlife.

You seem to be a bit on the fence. The police enforce an unjust law against everyone, not just you. If you feel justified to call the cops on someone else breaking the law you can expect the same in tri-fold. I am willing to bet you are or have broke the law in your lifetime.

I would like to see us become a community of people that have understanding for each other. Give someone else the benefit of a doubt before picking up the phone. The cops will not be so kind.

Well, actually I would call 112, I`m a Finn.
But seriously, there is a bar about 150 meters from my door step. People sometimes get out of it barely walking, gets in their car and of they go...that`s what I meant.
This is a land with huge probles with booze, so that can happen any time of the day and my kids coming home from school...well, better for them that cops get them before they hurt my kids or someone elses..

Im not even on the fence about this one. Karma would really bite you on the ass if someone dropped a cig, or almost fell a sleep you call the cops because you think their drunk. They get pulled over found to be sober butthe cop smells the weed they have stashed. That kind of makes you a snitch. In my book their is never a right and wrong snitch snitches are snitches. Yes they enfore it against everyone, if what your saying is true than all laws are unjust? i get that others may think other law are unjust, i am refering to cannabis prohibition tho, a single unjust law, if you think i am on the fnece your wrong...i am not breaking anylaws an as such have no reason to fear...i give people the benifit of the oubht i have only rang the police one time in my life, it seems people here think that calling the police for any reason is wrong...maybe because you no longer respect the rule of law because of unjust laws.....i am in favor of laws...if that rubs anyone the wrong way so sorry...

ok let me clarify, i dont call the police because of suspicious driving behavior. i dont call the police on a citizen because they may be violating traffic law. that isnt my job, it doesnt interest me and i wouldnt want it done to me...

Called them just before Christmas this year when some idiot, a drunk I assume was driving the wrong way down the motorway.

I call in drunk drivers all the time. But if I could pull them over and take their keys myself, I would.

Have called authorities (not 911) to report over the years:

Have cornered 2 drunk drivers before after chasing them down (I mean REALLY drunk drivers), even held a guy at gunpoint for the cops
