Hello!

I burned the plants 1 months ago with a nute mix of EC 3.2 (didn’t have an EC meter, measured afterwards).

The plants were flushed twice, a week apart and I didn’t want to feed them until I got the EC meter (2 weeks ago) so they were hungry..

When I got the meter, I measured the run off EC of all plants, and it was 0.23 to 0.47 EC.

My soil: BioBizz Light mix EC is 0.6
My tap water EC is 0.10.

I fed them @ 0.90 EC and had to pour a lot in each pot until the run off EC slowly climbed up to around 0.9..

I feed every other watering, but I measure the run off EC and I see it drop a lot between each feeding, so they must be eating?

Many of them are still looking pale, 2 weeks after I began feeding, and I am keeping the EC of the soil around 0.70 – 0.90 by giving nutes every other watering and measuring run off.

Last feeding also gave them AN Cal-Mag but still kept total nute mix EC @ 0.90.

I need to flower soon to avoid running out of space…
Are the plants recovering?
Should I up the EC on the more pale ones?
Should I foliar feed/water with AN Revive regularly until they recover?
Continue applying AN Cal Mag with each feeding?
Any help appreciated.

I filled in the form for SOIL, and below are pics:

SOIL:

How long has this problem been going on?
1 month

What STRAIN are you growing?
Mostly Jack Herer and Kali Mist, some others

What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)
seed

What is the age of your plants?
3 months

How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now?
2.5 months

Were they in the same mixture when they were seedlings/smaller plant? Yes

How Tall are the plants?
Plants are LSTd. Branches are 30 – 60 cm.

What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
Vegetative, alternating nodes

What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) LST

What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)
5L pots (1 per plant)

What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)
BioBizz Light Mix (EC 0.6)
Added 500ml powdered lime per 50L bag of soil, was too much so had to mix in acidic soil to bring the pH down a bit…

What brand Nutrient's are you using?
GH Flora Micro
GH Flora Bloom
In 1M:2B ratio (Lucas formula) @ 0.90 EC

How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
8ml Micro: 16ml Bloom into 10L bucket (a bit underfilled) results in EC 0.90 with tap water being 0.10 to begin with…

How often are you feeding?
Every other watering, 2-3 times a week. I measure runoff EC and usually see that its way below EC 0.90, so I water with nutes until the soil runoff slowly climbs back up to EC 0.90

What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
First GH Flora Micro and then GH Flora Bloom

What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
EC 0.90

What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?
6.5 - 6.7

How often are you testing pH/ppm/EC/TDS?
Every feeding

What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?
Ph drops

How often are you watering?
When the pots get completely light, usually every 2-3 days.

When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?
Last feeding was today, also gave them some AN Cal-Mag, but still kept the total EC of the nutes @ 0.90.
I feed every other watering: around 3 times a week. I measure runoff EC before and after feeding.

What size bulb are you using?
Sunmaster 600MH with Super Sun 2 air cooled

How old is your bulbs?
3 months

What is the distance to the canopy?
15” / 40 cm

What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)
55% after watering, slowly drops to 40%.

What is the canopy temperature?
25-28C

What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)
Day: 24-29
Night: 21-26

What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
150m3/hour for Homebox L (1m x 1m x 2m)

Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
Good ventilation with fresh air coming in. On 24/7.

Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
No

Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?
No

Is your water HARD or SOFT?
Soft. EC 0.10 - 0.11

What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?
Tap water. Let it sit for 24 hours.

If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap?(Only if you have a tds pen)
EC 0.10

Are you using water from a water softener? No
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? No
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? No
Are plant's infected with pest's? Not visibly

The new growth in your pics appears to be looking better but I would say go through and pick off 15% of those leaves especially the half crispy ones. Personally, I believe you are washing away your food and mg. is easily flushed out. Choose two or three and water slowly but try for no runoff and see what happens. Keep going and they will reward you. NS

Edit:
my vote: 4ml Ca/mg, 9ml FM, 16ml FB maybe add the revive? dont know. Mix that up and see what it is... I bet its EC 1.3-.4 and ph of 6.4 maybe lower with your water but about right. I might foliar once with very light Ca/mg just to add some N immediately up top. You seem to have corrected the problems so I hope things start to improve faster. Pick off those leafs so they dont have to keep them alive. NS

Agreed, I would remove the hurt leaves, and Isolate a few plants and try differentiate between what works and what doesn't you should pick out your exact issue this way as you will have a comparison.

Namaste :joint:

looks like you have a Mg problem .... try a foliar feed with epsom salts it will do more for you than the cal mag as far as the mag goes ..... take a look at the label on the AN cal mag ... the mag level in this product are not the highest on the shelf .... Mg is mobile in the plant but it moves slowly ... cutting edge solutions Mag Amp is chelated and works great foliar ...PEACE

Hi!

Thanks all for your replies. +rep

1) I foliar fed Epsom salt (1/3 tsp per spray bottle = around 0.7 EC)

2) I trimmed the damaged leaves.

3) And I upped the feeding EC to 1.5

I noticed some leaves "praying for mag"? before I foliar fed Epsom salt.

I am getting similar problems on the clones aswell + some other problems?

Should I also up their EC to 1.5?

Photos of both: clones and big plants..

More advise would be appreciated..

Edit: btw, I found out that Bio Bizz Light Mix soil EC is 1.2, NOT 0.60 like I said before...
I must have been starving the plants with weak feedings?

things should start looking better for the big ones fast. make sure the clones have good roots before you up the dosage.
