The envy in here - Amazing! When some of you have any form of talent worthwhile to someone else, see if you pass it up. You act as if this homeless man was taken off the streets, clothed, given a house and cars for nothing. His story went viral, he had something that sparked Americans interest. Now he gets to reap the rewards. He has a criminal back round, was a druggy and alcoholic. Why do you think that disqualifies him from opportunity? Some of you bastards...

LOTS of people on this site are ex-junkies....are they worth nothing? Not all of us are miserable downers, so if you don't like the fact that some of us have big hearts....take off.

I'm a freaking ex-junky. Shoot, if you catch me at the right time next month, I might be a junky.

Still, there is a certain limit to which you can let yourself go and still respectably be part of the public image.

I don't know enough about this guy to make that judgement call, but if I worked for Kraft I'd be firing whoever did his hiring.

I'm not saying don't give the guy a job or a chance.

I'm just saying I don't think he should be "the voice" for a household name.

let him do voice overs for casinos or liquor and cigarettes

why kraft?

Whats with all the negativity, who is the one who finds it necessary to mark posts as unhelpful. It's funny whoever chose to do this picks the only option to hate that hides behind anonymity. I will put my name with anything I say. Please help me figure out why it would be a bad idea for this guy to become a MMJ patient? I had a problem with addiction and MJ helped me immensely. Ya all need to chill out and concentrate on what we have in common instead of point out our differences. If we want to be excepted for our lifestyle choices we need to learn to accept others for theirs (even if we don't agree with them). Its called compassion, its a big part of MMJ. Lets all take a puff and come together. Peace, pot and karma. One Love:ying:

Ohio homeless radio man briefly held by LA police

Ohio homeless radio man briefly held by LA police

could be the meltdown is upon him already.......

LOS ANGELES – Ted Williams, the Ohio homeless man whose smooth radio voice made him an Internet sensation, had to do some quick talking to Los Angeles police.

Officers were called when Williams and his daughter got into a heated argument Monday night at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel & Spa, Officer Catherine Massey said.

"I don't know how loud they were" but the argument at about 9 p.m. led to a disturbance report, Massey said Tuesday.

"It was minor. Both parties were angry but there were no signs of visible abuse," Massey said. "They were brought in, calmed down, talked to and released."

She said she did not know the nature of the argument.

Williams and his daughter, whom Massey declined to name, were held at the Hollywood police station for less than an hour and they were not arrested, she said.

It was not immediately clear whether the two returned to the hotel. Calls to a hotel marketing representative seeking comment were not immediately returned.

Williams' manager, Al Battle, declined to comment about or provide details of the incident but said a statement would be issued soon.

"Once we get all the facts, it'll be out there for everybody to have," he said in a brief phone interview with The Associated Press.

Williams, 53, trained to be a radio announcer but found his life derailed by drugs and alcohol in the 1990s. He has served time in prison for theft and forgery and has been cited with numerous misdemeanors, including drug abuse.

Williams became famous almost overnight after The Columbus Dispatch newspaper posted a web video of him last week. Viewers were enthralled to hear a deep, honeyed professional voice coming from the shabbily dressed man.

Since then, he has done a TV commercial for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, appeared on various news shows, recorded voiceover promos for cable news and was offered an announcing job with the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team.

Although he says he has been clean for more than two years, the recovering addict has acknowledged that it has been challenging dealing with sudden fame.

"I wanted a nerve pill yesterday, to be honest with you," he told CBS on Friday.

I sure hope he can keep clean and succeed.

Apparently it was over money. He was MIA for a long time and I'm sure there are a lot of hard feelings in his children. He certainly should be generous and time will only tell. To me, sounds like a family fight and we shouldn't judge. We all have disagreements within family.

Corporate America thrives on this mentality.

They feed off of the youth who is willing to work dirt cheap.

In exchange, you sacrifice the best years of your life.

So when you turn 30, and you realize how shafted you've been getting by your $10/hr job, you start using cocaine.

And then you smoke crack and become homeless.

And then Kraft gives you a job where you can put food on the table, which you don't want because you'd rather be smoking crack.

Too bad you didn't enjoy the best years of your life and get to work when you're older getting paid a respectable wage thats offers a fair amount of freedom and luxury time.

You couldn't if you wanted to, because there is some 17-25 year old punk who will work for $7/hr.

But hey, at least YOU are taking home $60 a day after taxes, right?

 I know how your life has been goin' at least...

I agree the man was literally pulled off the street and handed all of this. he isn't perfect. who knows how anyone would act if they were put in his shoes, and being a former addict i bet its not easy. i know he is in over his head and probably a little scared. one wrong slip up and it could all be gone again.
also like you said disagreements inside his family should be dealt with inside his family. we all yell at your family and it doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. people are just fishing for stuff so they can bring this guy right back down again.
hopefully kraft or one of these companies he is working for helps him out with some counseling, financial planner, and things like that to help him through this.

and what is wrong with working?

find something you like.

i've had a lot of jobs that i loved and it sure as hell taught me a lot of things and it was better than some other things i could have been doing. for instance i cooked in restaurants for a long time. love cooking, loved the people i worked with (kitchens are a crazy atmosphere, and full of crazy ass people), learned a lot about cooking, etc. wasted time? hell no. love every minute of it? fuck no... but overall loved the work and my life wasn't wasted. i can cook some mean ass meals now, and never worked in restaurants for the damn money. just loved cooking and the people. if your working in a kitchen for the money your a damn liar haha

again, find something you like to do. no one forces you to work shitty jobs.

I think he made a big mistake doing the Dr. Phil show. He's made a lot of mistakes and airing them all out in the open for everyone isn't necessary. Dr. Phil has the guy believing he wants to help him. If he did he'd give the guy some private therapy instead of throwing him out for everyone to Judge.

I wish the guy luck but I think he's an addict and he's not ready to stop.....
