Purple Characteristics in Male Plants

uh purple coloring...lol also look for vigor, node spacing, reactions to stress(use clone),check for hollow stems(not good hollow stem cant suport heavy bud) but still can be used if they have good oil content.there other's but ill let the pros do they thing.even though there the breeding section.lolpeace

The Blue Moonshine males I chose as studs had purple balls, petioles and purple stems, as well as visible resin glands. This was outdoors in early August, so it wasn't cold temps that caused the purple. I dried the fan leaves and ran them through my scuff box and smoked the kief to test potency. The progeny made the grade, did the same for the F2 round.

Structurally speaking, a hollow tube is more rigid than a solid one and is actually stronger. As for plants, younger growth tends to be hollow, while the base tends to be pithy or woody on mature plants.

Most of the best pot I've grown tended to have hollow stems.

Hollow stems support big buds just fine

This baby had hollow stems. 7 dry oz of big fat nugs

well i heard it depends where are you breeding your plants for.like me most of my breeding program is focused toward outdoor production conditions.so i need stronger stock and branch's to insure plants stand up to heavy wind and rain.also i like to run male(6-8week bloom)through bho and measure weight vers. potency.what line are you trying to purple?

look for the same general traits as for any other breeding male selection but add the purple coloring factor to your list. If your goal is to purple up another line, look for a daddy with the caracteristics of your choice (general traits + purple color at max: flowers, leafs, stem...) then grow the resulting cross with enough numbers to see at how level the purple trait express itself.

it's a short explanation but there's plenty of threads on the subject with many many more details ;)

Understand other factors besides color for picking a good male but also would like to have purple color too.

Thanks for all the replys.
