Issues with hortilux super blue

So my buddy dropped $500 on 2 super blue hortilux bulbs http://www.eyehortilux.com/superblue.html. After 5 months and parts of 2 different grows he brings me into his room and says "hey see how the wall around that light is blue and around the other light is red." So we call the grow shop up and they tell us to bring them down, we get there and they say "Yeah, you can see that this one is 40% blue and the other one is about 15%" but refuse to replace it and have us call hortilux and they tell us to send both bulbs to them and it'll take a couple weeks. He replaces them with super HPS and sends them out. He finally gets an answer today (~3 weeks later) that says they are out of warranty and have obviously been over used and abused but they'll replace the bad one out of the goodness of their hearts.

I am very displeased with this, The bulbs might've been made more than a year ago but that doesn't mean that we bought them that long ago and we work for everything we have, don't send us something out of the goodness of your heart. I'll be using Ushio http://www.ushio.com/products/horticulture/hiluxgro.htm for the time being.

So the bad bulb was replaced, you got loner bulbs in the mean time, whats your beef exactly?

Buy your stuff somewhere else, If my shop didnt replace them and handle the return they wouldnt have my biz for long.

KRD, I was using 2 shops at the same time but won't be going to the old one again.

303hydro, my friend had to buy replacement bulbs, and they weren't the ones he dropped $500 on.

2 grows its time for new bulbs neway if they are the blue and on 24hr after 5 months they will still light but wont be what they are used to be time for new ones. i change everygrow but get a sweet deal on bulbs. i use the super hps and metalhalide blue bulbs havent tried the combo bulb yet.

i thaught bout it 5months is very short to have issues though id be pissed to but my hydro guy would of taken care of it asap.
