Evening everyone,

I have 3 mothers from wich I plan on taking 3 cuts from each tomorrow. Would like your thoughts on my plan.

The cuts from experience take 12/14 days to root thro 1" rockwool cubes.

Once rooted I plan to place them into 1.4 litre square pots to start vegging for 2 weeks.

Week 3 Ill pot them on too their final pot of 6.5 litres and top them all once and after allowing time for them to recover Ill veg them for 2 more weeks before I flower,so 4 weeks in all on 18/6.

Ill be using a 600watt light with a parabolic shade in a space of 4foot x 4 foot.

My extraction is 6" with a 6" carbon filter and a 5" for intake with a oscalating fan blowing between cannopy and bulb.

My medium will be canna coco pluss and nutes will be the hesi range.

I,ll be hand watering from start to finish.

Im hoping on 56 grams per plant from this attempt.

What do you rekon?..all thoughts appreciated.

Baldy.

Hello Evlme2

The strains Ive got are killerskunk / supersilverhaze / uk cheese.

Ive worked with these before.

Last time when they come out the prop I put them straight into 3.5 litre pots and vegged for two weeks. These were untopped tho and flowered at 9" tall,I managed to keep the cannopy quite level, only the ssh grew a couple of inches taller when the stretch had finished, nothing major, all plants just about doubled in height.17 clones this was and produced near on an oz per plant.

So this time Im thinking of less plants (3x3) 1 pot up and topping once.

Pluss an extra 2 weeks veg hoping to get the same yield as before (18 oz ) with less plants and more vegging.

Well thats the plan...whatcha rekon?

You've got the right idea with the longer veg for the lower plant count.

If you pull it off, that's almost a gram per watt. That's pretty good. It'll require everything to go perfectly and since you are changing things around a little this time things may not go perfectly. I always screw up something somewhere so I can never hit a gram per watt.

That's a lot of handwatering. Labor of love huh? lol I've heard good things about those Tropf Blumats. Might want to consider something like that, but I guess it depends on how valuable your time and labor is versus cost of the Blumats.

I'll put in two cents for LST or supercropping rather than topping though.

You are going to have some very heavy buds on plants like that. How are you going to support them?

Morning cashmunny.

Thanks for your input fella very much appreciated. A gram per watt would be nice,Im just missing out on this with previous attempts, usually 18oz with 17 plants and 2 weeks veg but no training or topping involved, only thing I do do is trim the bottom third off my plants up too two weeks flowering,it makes watering that bit easier and allows better airflow around the pots.

Ive got my tent dialled in temp wise with an oil filled rad for lights out that keeps them cossy in these winter months. My intake and extract are controlled with a primair.

Hand watering aint a problem,i only do it every two days, sometimes daily,as long as the coco dont dry out. Labour of love indeed fella pluss Im housebound so it aint too much of a mission.

Suppercropping or low stress training is something Ive never tried in my 8 years of growing, topping is my prefared method of keeping an even (ish) cannopy what with growing 3 different strains.

I support them using bamboo canes and string, lots of it! one downside of using a parabolic shade is I cant use yo yo,s for support.

Thanks again fella.

Once when I topped, I was actually trying to FIM the plant and well "F*ck I Missed" lol. Seems like it took the plant a while to bounce back from losing the growing tip.

The problem imo with LST is that bending the plants usually results in some wacky pretzel shaped stems which then bend under the weight of heavy buds. It's perfect for SCROG where the shoots are tied to a screen but I could see for SOG style, not so much.

Supercropping on the other hand might be something you could experiment with on one or two plants. What I do is I take a twist tie and I make a splint around the stem where I'm going to crush it FIRST. That way when I do crush the stem it doesn't flop over and do more damage. Also the stem is somewhat delicate after crushing so that messing with it and trying to put on the splint after crushing sometimes breaks the stem completely off. And then well, I guess I just topped the plant, lol.

I've done both but never side by side. I'd be interested in seeing what you think if you did a side by side.

I would veg longer in the bigger pots. LST works well, but as was said, you need more time to build plant strength. Tying down after they hit 8 inches, then repeating etc. ( some strains do not like being messed with ) The trick is, once the buds have started and the stretch is over, tie them to bamboo stakes that are stuck in the pot so the big buds are supported. If you have the time for extra veg, this is a good way to use your space for a low plant count, without a screen.

something like :
jack the ripper, organic, left almost 10 weeks, trained for multiple tops.
