Don't know if it is a "Spanish"word or not but mota is slang in some parts for it.

marijuana is a propaganda word created to scare the masses by saying that white men were lured to it like a latin woman. Marijuana is mary jane.

i know tons of people who speak spanish and every one calls weed mota or molta. its like an american saying "pot"

I'm pretty sure marijuana is Spanish for a type of tobacco or slang for a type of Mexican tobacco or something. It was coined as a term for cannabis by people spreading propaganda.
