garbage searched..advice?

I second that, 8 gm & a garbage pull?., Not likely. Even most cops with zeal, are loath to be pickin through smelly garbage to grab such a small bag of potato chips as this micro op. If they're gonna get dirty hands, they're gonna do it for big fish. Still; as many of us know all too well, there's always an exception to the rule. I still think that the story sounds more likely identity thieves.

Capt. Kirk, don't know if you are in a med state or not. Do you still have weight of product around? I would consider finding a way to keep only what personal use product around till this thing is resolved. If they are suspicious enough to pull garbage, they ain't gonna let it go now. They will try to piece together enough to get a warrant to do a search, and if they do and you have any weight around they will use that even though the grow is gone.

My dad tells me that once, when I was about four years old or so, I gave him away too. We were staying in a hotel during a road trip to his relatives, and apparently the hotel vending machines had been broken into during the night. The police were asking everyone around if they had heard or seen anything.

Apparently, they knocked on the door to our hotel room, and my dad answered it. As he's standing there in the doorway telling them that he hadn't seen or heard anything, I came and stood there hugging my dad's leg and directly told the police officers "Hi! My daddy grows pot!". He said he nearly had a heart attack, but the police officers just laughed at walked away (this was in the 70s), knowing that he lived in another state and it wasn't their problem.

It's sometimes amazing how much kids know about what happens in their world, even when you think you are being relatively careful to keep it from them

do you have a big grow ?i cant see them going thru your garbage for a 8 g (GRAM?) grow.

It still amazes me that people assume that cops "won't bother" for a small grow. I really think that's giving far too much credit to the police, aside from being just plain faulty thinking.

Firstly, it assumes that they actually know how much is being grown, which is unlikely in many cases. They get a tip, they look for evidence of a grow, any grow, and they get a warrant. Easy as that. Secondly, it assumes that they won't totally waste resources on the small grows, which experience and every day's news clearly shows to be incorrect.

I can't even count how many stories I've seen or read about police showing up with a warrant and a full swat team and busting in guns drawn for a two-plant grow, not to mention actually knowing people this has happened to. Even in states with medical marijuana laws, this happens every week.

well i got a call from the person across the street the other week. they told me someone had just snatched the bagged garbage out of my cans out front for pickup. now i never ever throw out anything so no worries there.. was wondering what yall think .. i did tear down that night ..lost about 8 g's ..only had 3 weeks left at the time..

so since then nothing has happened..i know that i probably did the right thing but man it is killing my wallet..

any one know of any other reason just to take all the bagged garbage ?? i would think it has to be pigs..

from what ive been told around me that the undercovers roll up as grabage men on a garbage truck.... to not alert the person as this guy did to you.. im not saying your safe... but a random person stealing garbage is fucking wierd... so good shit on your end for tearing down...

You should think about starting a legit veggie grow inside. Make sure your house is completely spotless and pray you get raided. Blame your kids outburst on the media and hype. You were always growing your own food. Might get lucky and be left alone for a long while.

I'm not saying go all out, but just get something started. Who knows you might get into feeding yourself as well as your mind. I used to have backyard gardens, great family activity.

First thing is good job for breaking down. I've done it before and nothing came of it and I was hurt too, but it was the right thing to do. I'm sure the "how my iphone got me busted" guy would much rather be in your shoes.

Secondly it's true that it may just be identity thieves, but if they targeted your trash specifically it seems less likely, although not all together exclusive. Maybe they got some credit card receipts prior and are now looking for your bills. It would be foolish to assume either one; the only prudent thing to do is act according to the worst case scenario, which would be and LEO trash-snatch.

If you're being looked into I think sadly it's not safe for you there anymore, at least for several more months. Even if they found nothing and give up, they won't forget about you. I would not re-start there, but then again I am not tied down to that spot like you are.

idk but if the person you talked to wanted you busted you they would have sent CPS to investigate the minute they know children are involved thats how it works in these parts

Around here we have 3 bins, trash, cans, and yard clippings. It's not unusual to have Asians go through your trash to get the cans and bottles. I've seen it a dozen times at night here. I have a grower buddy with a motion detector on the trash, and not for police. In all the cases I've seen it's an Asian grandma doing her part to support the family. well my grower buddy calls it stealing none-the-less.

I believe that the odds are much better that it was the cops rather than some theives.



You could could also probably narrow the odds down further depending on where you live, how far is it from main roads, how much a car traffic ect. Whats the odds somebody would pick YOUR house.


I think there was reason why THEY picked your house.


Good thing you tore down I have read many paranoid stories on growing webstites. The hair on the back of my neck stood up on this one.

Props on tearing down and being safe. One suggestion, from now on empty your bags of trash into the can so it is all loose garbage and they can't easily grab a bag to go through later.
