Dinafem Power Kush kicking into Flower

Here we are! 2 Power Kush Fems, ready to flower. Totally awesome to see freebie plants looking so amazing and promising. Thanks to everyone at the 'Boo! And Dinafem!

The one to the right was started earlier, her name is Peach. She smelled like creamy peaches when she was smaller but now she smells more like Fruity Pebbles/ Sprees! The one to the left smells similar... she doesn't have a name... I'll call her Apricot!

Peach shot... look at all those tops! You may have noticed she's already budding... due to complications I need not go into.

And lil Apricot girl... I predict a growth spurt real soon here!

curious as to why you dont fill out the cab before flowering? is that the night soil( poo soil ) you made?

Well the bigger one is actually quite close to the light (the light is just above the top of the picture), that's why I decided to kick them into flower, I figured they'd throw out a significant amount of vegetation in early flower, and hopefully the smaller one will get to a decent size and the bigger one won't grow into the light and burn her 'ginie.

I'm using my SuperSoilMix, which is sort of a "vegan" version of the recipe in the Organix4Beginners thread. (no blood meal or bone meal or anything of the like) There is a small portion of ShitSoil that I recently mixed in.

I'm thinking a nice little bed eventually! I use whatever I have on hand. I found that lovely little TeaCup Pot in somebody's trash. Who would throw out such a sacred vessel? Consider it an offering from the divine.

i was going to mention a bed but was not sure if it would fly with you. i think if you just split the bottom into 4, added plastic to keep the soil in, then drainage holes and rock, on top of that landscape fabric then your soil. the individual bed/pots will be highly productive. it would also be very cheap to make since your place is small scrap wood and plastic can be found anywhere and everywhere.

Update! It seems the girls are just about finished with their vegetative growth. I am going to lift them a little closer to the light now.

Ok so lifting them closer to the light wasn't the best idea... they took a bit of a burn for that one.

On a superawesome positive note, I just pollinated a couple branches of each plant... with some Vanilluna pollen!

I grew a Power Kush about a year ago (got it as a freebie) and it was very quality stuff. I've also grown Blue Widow and Critical Jack by Dinafem and I've been very happy with all three.

Too much positive word on the Power Kush!!

Bout time for an update eh?

There they are together; Apricot and Peach.

They give off the loveliest of smells. I've gotten Orange Extract, Strawberry, Grape Kool-Aid, SweetTarts, Sprees, Skittles Sweet Skunkiness... delightful.

I can see some calyxes swelling on the buds I pollinated with Vanilluna pollen... we're gonna be daddies!

Premature Smoke Report!


And I will cap this off with sort of a premature smoke report. I snipped off a bit of Apricot to check the trichs (some cloudy, some clear), and then I quick dried the bud in my dehydrator. Me and my bro smoked together. I take the first hit... the taste is wonderful, dank, nostalgic. I only need one hit to set me, but the taste reminded me of a time when I used to need more hits, so I took more hits. Bad idea? Next thing I remember I'm sitting on my porch with my bro, wrapped in blankets. I was very high, a sort of high I'm not sure I felt before. Very intense. I was in superfear mode. I remember trying to breathe to make myself feel better, and thinking not even oxygen can help me (silly looking back but thats how I felt). I tried to comfort myself and my bro with a funny thought of when 2 of our friends told us they got so high one time they thought they were going to die. The thought of them kept looping in my head in a way that made me sort of lose touch with the comfort it provided me. It was tough to comfort myself but I managed not to panic. I was feeling like I wouldn't be able to stand up, but me and my bro did just that and walked inside for warmth. We both started running in place, instinctively knowing that that its helpful to keep moving when your feeling like this. It was weird, I could keep running and running and feeling fine, but whenever I stopped I felt very out of breath and my heart was beating uncomfortably intense. Something I remember observing is that my thought-patterns were very weird, its hard to describe, they're just not the thoughts that I normally ever think. Not just the thoughts themselves but they way they were thunk. "These are not my thoughts" I thought. Are these the thoughts of my ancestors? Is the weed making me think like an animal or something? I looked in the mirror and saw myself in a manner thats difficult to describe. Like I was a primitive hominid, in such fear that I don't even know what myself is and am afraid of it. My mind is freaking out a bit. I'm looking around, theres a weird air to the house. I feel like the house is toxic, like I'm trapped in a gas chamber, like the house is being bombed to kill roaches and I shouldn't be in there. I get on my mini trampoline and jump jump jump away. I start to think relieving thoughts like... dude its just weed... dude it was just the pizza! (I don't eat much cooked food)... and then I start to think maybe my basement is toxic and my weed was poisoned. There wasn't an easy way to comfort myself out of this thought. Well me and my bro both decided to go into the basement and ground. We went down with our vegging Vanilluna plants, took our shoes off, and attempted to calm down. We were drumming on objects around us, the fear starting to go away but still feeling primitive. An increasingly good primitive. We started chanting with our mouths and playing drums, feeling silly, high, and superstrange. I remember holding my brothers hands, and feeling an intense connection to him. I was awestruck. Now I don't consider myself an adult by any means but I really felt what it feels like to be a kid. I felt like a Carebear. My brother was doing some cute gestures and I was tooken aback by how cute it was to me. I couldn't quite take it in, it was just a bit scary how new this was to me. I told my brother that it felt amazing to be barefoot and holding hands, and he responded "Isn't that what hippies do?". We laughed hilariously. This was an ah-ha moment for me. I felt so loving. I was thinking very pleasurable, high frequency thoughts of saving the world with love, to put it vaguely.

I sort of felt like being on the ground barefoot and touching the Vanillunas with my bare hands is what turned the high around. Wait, I've heard of something like this before! You don't even have to ingest a plant to feel the spirit of it. I would say the way I felt was very inline with what the DJ spirit is said to be. This was/is very significant to me.

Thank you for reading my report. Now remember, that was an Apricot bud I smoked. Pictured below is a premature, quick-dried pic of a Peach bud, which I've yet to smoke.

There is NO need to change the name of the genetics your growing! The beans u received were, Power Kush from Dinafem. Making names up like peache and apricot for individual phenotypes, does nothing for the cannabis world, other than confuse ppl. Other than that! the strain u are growing is pretty good. when u get free beans u cant complain. Five phenotypes show their colors when receiving a few free packs of these genetics for myself. The first was a very low yielding, sativa. The flowers were dence and had a nice lemon smell. The second was more indica dom. and had huge fluffy flowers all over her. this is the one u want! Good buzz. Lacks on taste, but still has some kind of fruityness coming through in the exhale. medium yield. Great for first time growers and the ones just getting into the game. with that said i did in fact cut this genetics out of my garden!. i enjoy top shelf bud, but id rather burn the stuff hidden under the counter!

I am not naming the strain that, I'm naming my plants that! It's an affectionate name - a lot funner than calling them plant A, B, and C, or, 1 2 and 3. I hope the "Dinafem - Power Kush" in the title will keep fellas from getting confused.

Thanks for the rundown! I'm not sure what my plants smell like - it's so complex! A frail description of them - Peach is tropical fruity, with a funky cheesy dopeness to 'er. Apricot has a sharp fruity sour smell, similar to SweetTarts, and Warheads, and LemonLime combined!

she had a CA problem in veg and bushed out just like your plants. i kept her going 9wks and it paid off. i got the amazing color from adding ice to the base of the stem for the last 4days. amazing smoke.
