Going Organic with 9 600's

Soooo i've been checking out other people's threads for awhile now and finally decided to get my shit together and fire up my own one.

The room im with is roughly 12'x24' with 9 Lumatek 600's providing light for the ladies, for hoods i got 6 XXL magnums and 3 random mismatched ones that ive had forever.

As far as nutrients i mix and match quite a bit, My staples are Alg-A-Mic, Roots Organics Trinity, Rainbow mix Grow and Bloom and liquid Budswel

This run i have implemented some new stuff into my line up and have been using it very sparingly, the new additions are Pro tek (the one and only thing besides clonex that touches my babies that isn't organic, i really struggled with myself about using this stuff but when i got rid of the bulky 4x8's and the trellis system i had with em i realized i needed something to aid in support to save myself endless hours of staking, i gotta say so far i've been very pleased with this stuff. In addition i've been using Pura Vida grow, stuff slams my PH through the floor and i've been using a little bit to go a long way.

For soil i mix up a blend of Roots organics soil, chunky perlite, worm casting, seaweed extract, and a bit of Rainbow mix grow

To keep my soil and plants happy i constantly hit them with home brewed actively aerated compost tea and they love every application!

trying to think what else..... got 4 6'' inlines keeping the lights cool with another 6'' inline with hepa filter for intake and a 10'' max fan pulling out through a phresh filter, got a 12,000 BTU AC helping to keep the room nice and cool as well

Temps range from 62-77 depending on weather but normally hang out in the 68-72 range which i love, humidity stays around 55% and i got 4 oscillating fans up top moving air around and 3 at ground level pushing air through the pruned up bottoms of the plants

Speaking of prunning, i am a huge fan of prunning/topping/femming/pinching and all that good stuff, I top my plants when there about 9-12 inches tall and continue to bend and prune from there on, I am a huge fan of the "kush bush" style of plants and try and keep all my plants stout and bushy with many tops. I always strive for an even canopy with the bottoms of the plants cleaned up nicely for no "B" buds in the finished product

As far as genetics go, Im running Purple Trainwreck (erkle x wreck) that i got from the good folks up at good karma growers in Clear lake, Absolutely love this strain! Yields hard, turns black with the right temps and has a strong enough smell to slap you in the face when you crack open a turkey bag haha, Besides that i'm running a killer Pheno of Blackberry kush that i got up in Sonoma, A local only cut of Chem berry (chem x blueberry) that i managed to severely piss off by tormenting her with multiple moves and transitions from 600's to fluorescents, And 1 lone GDP runt clone that i threw in late to smoke on, in total i got around 50 Purp wreck in 5 gals, 7-8 BBK's in 5 gals, 15 BBK's in 3 gal smarties, 2 chem berry's in 7 gal smarties and 1 gdp in a 5 gal

I think that pretty much covers it for right now, Im getting a new camera tomorrow so i will take lots of pics and figure out how to post them very very soon........

ohhh and Input is defiantly appreciated so feel free.........

Everything sounds good I just have a few questions. I was wondering why you chose to run 600s instead of Ks? Also your average temp seems a little low, how did you settle into that range?

soo took a few pics tonight with a crappy camera, if anyone has photo advice please help i am new at this

These are the girls at 9 days of 12/12...

looking forward to checking out the progress! I use 2 600s, and a 1k, and I think I like the two 600s more than the extra 20% wattage. I've also learned that 600s are more efficient (more lumens per watt) than the 1ks..
600's also give off less heat, and are perfect for a 3x3 area. I have two over a seven foot table, and over another table I have a 1k on a lightrail..

happy to share, looking forward to seeing more.

best of luck!

NN-Running 6's because the house only has a 50 amp box (house definitely is not new) the room used to be all Ks and had more of them but that was on a different box, plus 6's are much more forgiving on the power bill. As for the low temps i chalk a lot of it up to the weather, the house is cold and room stays cooler cause we pump outside air in and go an AC in there, room temps in the summer are always warmer though

Clampie- I like 6's as well, definitely easier to cool then 1K's. I've seen friends pull better yields with some strains off a 4x8 with 3 6's then one with 2K's. I do believe some strains perform much better under 1K's though. i will have more pics up very soon i just gotta figure out how to make em look better....

been very busy the past two evenings giving the bottoms their final prune and everything is continuing to stretch out very nicely, here the girl at day 14 of 12/12

Nice set up man! Thats about the size im working towards.

I love the 600's too. I have several 1k's only because they are easily acquired but id trade em out fo r600's in a minute.

Chem Berry sounds fun. I should make my way out to clearlake for their market. BBK and the P Wrek are somethin Id like to get my hands on too. I have a nice library I keep on hand, the'd make nice additions.....

Good luck on ur grow, lookin good for sure!!
My lil 1200 took a sever shock dive for an un-pinpointed reason but since there are several factors I just write it off as a poor setup, or poor execution. Hopefully that rooms next run and my new 4k project come out top notch.

nice looking grow...can you post pictures of how you mounted your 10in can fan to the ceiling?

and maybe pic of your intake....i was also thinking of using a 6inch hepa intake to pull in cold air.....

and your pots just sit on the concrete floor and its flood to waste? or no run off? nice grow mang.

sorry been lagging on updates but got very sick over the holidays and still havn't gotten a new decent camera. Things are blowing up and buds are really starting to swell nicely, i will have pictures very soon.

Bud-boy; thanks for the kind words, wish i could get my indoor ladies to chunk up like those christmas trees u put up this year outside, i also would highly recommend the clear lake market, the people who run it are genuinue and very well connected, they helped me track down an amazing cut of ship wreck (purp kush x trainwreck) that i got from them years ago and i couldn't be happier. Get that new room set up i wanna see more of that shrek.....

Fladankster: all the pots shown in pics are 5 gallons filled 3/4's to capacity, i also have some 3 gallon smart pots mixed in as well

Yes4prop215: the 10'' max fan is mounted to the ceiling with eye hooks and chain attached to the ceiling stud, the same for the filter attached i will take some pics for next update, the hepa to pull cool air in works great as well, i always have a bigger exhaust then intake to have negative pressure aid inline fan pulling cool air in, And yes the room is drain to waste, the floor is at a slight slant so excess runoff travels to a corner of the room where a floor drain is located, all excess water thats not drained is shot-vac'd out

more pics very soon...

yo bay are ablue! thanks for the pleasent comments! Checked out some of your photos and your thread and seems like we have very similar grow styles. Lots of bending and pruning while removing all lower larffy branches so there are only A buds. The liquid compost in my opinion makes plants look so fuckin happy its incredible. My lights just turned on! so i'm gonna go take some shots of that Durban poison plants that are massive! Peace and grow with LovE!

sorry for lagging so bad with updates, snapped some quick pics tonight, girls are at 36 days of 12/12.
