2 girls, 1 rez? will this affect the other?

I've seen many grows where 2 or more plants were sharing the same rez, but they were usually the same type of plants. right now, i'm vegging an indica hybrid strain, Hindu Skunk and a sativa hybrid, Sour Grapes aka Grape Stomper in different DWC buckets.

my plan was to veg the girls in dwc so i can get clones from her to flower in another chamber using SWC. so that's 2 different types of plants sharing the same rez. i've read that Hindu Skunk may need Cal/mag during flowering. i just dont know how this will effect the other plants.

so, would sharing the rez be ok for these 2 plants in SWC? or should i just flower in different containers?

Any and all help is always appreciated!

thanks

1 rez for 2 girls in slightly diiferent systems like you planning will work well , the cal mag won't bother anything just use a moderate dose and add it first then keep you ec at 1.2-1.7 and ph at 5.3-5.8 you'll do fine.. Hope it works out for ya.

I've run three different strains in the same RDWC system with some degree of success. It should be fine. i was running roughy 900ppm @ .5 and ~6.0 ph. l find its a fine line between all the plants nutrient preferences. but using the above posts profiles for EC and PH will get you on paper. I've always has one that gets a little wacky because its not in tune with the others but sometimes that cant be avoided.

hope it works out fo you!

I have 6 strains sharing one res atm. No burn or defs on any of them.. all from indica to sativa seem to be handling 1200 ppm 4th week of flower just fine. Only issue is the uneven canopy. I can't lower the light to benefit the majority of plants because a few runts are too tall, and other little issues like that.

I've had minor issues but I doubt you'll have major problems. Really the only issue comes up when you have plants with radically differing harvest dates/etc and you want to do something like flush. If your projected harvest dates are similar I see no issue with sharing a res, if they're off by quite a bit I wouldn't.

LIKE !!! SAID the uneven conopy can be aggrevating.. i have this one plant that will stretch like 3 feet or 4 feet .. i've seen it never stop stretching.. i have found out that about 2 weeks into flowering i take chicken wire and squish this plant down about a foot below the top of the other plants( the other plants r the ones that don't stretch much). when this works i get a good even harvest .. when it doesn't i just get mad. in order for this to work u kinda gotta know the stretch of the plant....i've run 5 different strains for years and never had a problem except once or twice( i'm talking about fertilizers or one freaking out..). its the uneven conopy that makes me mad...

Pop the sativa hybrid in 3 weeks before the others. then super crop it when the others finish there stretch, this method has given me the freedom to grow upto 6 strains in a wilma system and they then finish around the same time.
