wiring a new light fixture.

hello.have a fast question with a pic.
can i cut the plug end off 3 prong ext cord and wire
it to this light fixture?.the copper wire is the ground that
needs to be wired to the round 3rd prong.?
the wire leads from the light fixture dont look like they are tinned,could they be aluminum and if so can they be spliced
to copper leads on ext cord.
no documentation with the light fix.it was 5 bones.
anyone with elc exp help me out?thanx

As long as the extension cord is the same size wire as the fixture.
Go for it.

yes you are good, use wire nuts on each splice
