Minus all the details, lets say I had a good reason to call out someone for being very very drunk. I was very harsh about it too, should have been a bit nicer.

Is it hypocritical to tell someone about their drinking issues, then wake up the next day and go visit the grow room?

(Being a person that does drink a beer once a week or so, and smokes couple times a month.)

No, drunks can be the worst people to deal with.

I am an ex drunk and even I cannot stand most drunks.

Smoking weed doesnt hurt anybody, you dont smoke a bone then trash a hotel room or crash your car or say mean things or beat your wife.

Growing and smoking weed is much less a social problem than people who over drink.

i'm an exdrunk also and i was nasty. good herb and meditational yoga was the fix. maybe he needed to "hear" it. maybe he did, probably didn't. hypocrisy? hell, that's part of the human condition. good that you are self-checking.

Hypocritical,no.Wasting your breath,yes.I know a couple hardcore alcoholics,one is my Brother the other is a life long friend.One is a happy drunk the other a scary drunk.Over the years I have told them countless times how I feel about their drinking and my concern for their longterm health and it always falls on deaf ears.I want to fucking strangle them sometimes.I always express my concerns when they are "sober"and it goes in one ear and out the other.My loss,I guess.BC

Does visiting your grow room cause you to act in unacceptable ways socially and/or cause you to piss people off and make them be harsh to you? If so then yes, you might be a hypocrit.

If not then no, you're trying to compare two things solely on the idea both are addicting. Anything can be addicting though both positive and negative things. The individual bares the responsibility/accountability for the addiction they choose.

one Q - You already know the answer to your problem. No, your not a hypocrite but yes you could have handled the situation better. Being a non drinking pot smoker is kind of like being a cop (besides all the douche bag stuff). You have to hold yourself to a higher standard because of the fact that you smoke. People have to see you lead by example before they trust what you are saying. So don't feel bad about being a pot smoker but next time treat the drunk with a little more sensitivity. We all know that this drunk will ignore you when drunk, and most likely when sober, but this way you don't look like a dick. Happy New Year and I hope your problems fade away.
