That sucks big time. Way to start off the new year. For both the cop and the pedestrian. Hope their year gets better.

Nothing in the article suggests the cop was evil or was involved in any wrongdoing. He had his sirens and lights on, and the man walked into his cruiser.

Seems like the man was possibly drunk. Funny thing is, he probably thought he was safer walking than driving in that condition.

Truly sad. This dude is my age.. we're kids. shit. Let's hope he pulls through. +good vibes

Damn. Like Poopy said. This guy is at worst going to get a paid vacation. Meanwhile I would not be surprised if they try and pin some bogus charge on the pedestrian. If they can they will. I hope he recovers.Who knows if he was really drunk or not. Just because a cop has their lights and sirens on doesn't give them a license to drive recklessly (if he was). I'm sure we've all seen them go against traffic, cruise, on the shoulder, run lights, and talk on their phones. They get too much leeway and union protection if you ask me. Even if he was doing something inappropriate, we would more than likely never find out.

i used to live on a main road and anytne the cops had anemerency they would fly by my house if one of my kids had walked out in the street they would have never been able to stop,,,but hey cops can do whatever they want right?,,,hope the guy makes it,,,peace

Good god I wish winters didn't blow so much ass in Michigan. Spring to mid-November, MI is an incredible place to be, with low cost of living.

Random truth.

That really really sucks, but this article doesn't mention enough for me to blame the officer.. In fact I feel bad for the officer, as well as the pedestrian. Obviously I feel way worse for the pedestrian and hope he makes it out alive and ok, but that officer is more than likely feeling like complete shit right now. Apparently he had his lights and sirens on, maybe this pedestrian was drunk? Anyways, hopefully he recovers and hopefully the investigation sheds light and truth on the situation.
Damn that sucks big time. Just as the new year began as well :(

I've personally seen cops drive absolutely recklessly many times. I was caught in the middle of a high speed chase 9 months pregnant and had multiple cops blow past me while I was in the fast lane. Since they were passing me in the middle of both lanes (NICE!!!)...I was never able to get over to the slow lane safely to get out of their way. The person they were after pulled up on my car going well over 100 miles an hour and the cops never gave me the chance to get over. I understand they wanted that guy really bad, but not only the accused put me and my unborn son in danger....the cops did too.

I'm not saying that the cop did anything wrong last night, but I think they aren't necessarily paying a whole lot of attention to anything other than the call sometimes. I was also rear ended when a cop irresponsibly stopped traffic to cross over a 2 lane one way to get to the opisite side for a call that was out of his jurisdiction. So, I have seen cops be stupid on the roads....both PTB and I were injured in that accident. I wasn't happy and don't blame the driver behind us....what that cop did was fucking stupid. He could have gotten to where he was going on back streets. OR, since he was just responding to help out in another city....he could have waited until traffic was safely stopped.
