bulb position, need quick help

I dunno if anyone is on right now being new years eve and all but i need some quick help

i'm setting up my flower room in the morning and need to figure out a bulb layout before i get started

the flower area is about 10x8x8 and im aiming for 4-6 ft trees

now i'm stuck between two layouts.. which would you choose and why?

x=plants, o=bulbs; x's in bold would be the biggest plants in the room

homie i hang a bulb and surround it with plants....the big tree growers take a plant and surround it with bulbs...find what suits your style and dial !!

ya i was thinking same whodair, def overthinking but just was trying to get it right... i'm thinking the first way with the 1k's in the middle, the middle 4 plants should be huge getting light from 3 bulbs then the side plants will help make up some extra yield..

think thats what im gonna do unless someone changes my mind

first way looks good to me.....but I only have (2) 1K lights in a stadium/scrog so......I think you'll do fine either way...good luck bro and keep us apprised on how you do. Happy New Year!

I am not a vertical guy yet, 9 more days that will be changing. I have to remodel my 4k and go two teir ala selfhemployed and others. My choice is #2 and switch the 600/1000 every 5 days or so. Seems to me it would throw more to the walls. Happy new year to everybody and keep it green! NS

I like the second light layout, but with the idea in mind of adding a light mover (moving lights up & down in diagram). The average lumen per square foot would drop a bit, but that could be partially offset by decreasing distance between the lamps and the canopy.

Either way you decide, best of luck with your new grow.

I'd go with the second layout. Makes more sence as it would light the room up more uniformally.

In a 10 x 8 room you will only have room for 3-4 big trees....

If trees are the plan I'd probably go with three and hang the lamps around them with a 1K in the middle.

thanks for stopping by Lex... well these will be more like decent bushes

probably 4 ft tall, 2.5 ft wide

i measured today and i'm pretty sure i can fit them in there at 45" on center, i may have to cut down from 16 plants to 12 though

i decided i dont have enough room for the first layout so i'm going with this one:

edit: just so its known, my room is bigger than 10x8.. that is just my estimated actual flower area (fans, rez's, a/c, etc is NOT inside of the 10x8)

How high should the bulbs be hung relative to the plants? Dead center..3/4 up..above?
