Ok back again, god damn this place has been my saving ground lately. Last Sunday I transplanted 8 ladies from their 1 gallon pots under a 400 HPS to my 5x5 tent. Move everyone into a 5 gallon pot 2/3's FFOF and 1/3 Light Warrrior. As always I over-watered like I always do when I transplant and the plants have looked like garbage since the move. I went out there today to check on them and leaves are curled under and everyone just looks droopy and depressed....I checked them with my digital moisture meter and everything is sitting at 4.0 which is normal and usually means they will need water tomorrow...Not sure what to do here, scared to water and kill the roots...Color is good on the plants, just look droopy and leaves are curled under like bear paws, PH is 7.0

Well I usually wait until they are really thirsty again before watering them again.

One way to think of watering - it's not the watering that is important - it is the dry spell in between. The soil needs to dry out enough for air to get in - so the roots can breathe.

It isn't the water that hurts or kills the plant - it's the lack of oxagen in between waterings.

If you ever try DWC growing - the roots are continiously submereged in water - because the water is super oxagenated - so it isnt the water - it's the lack of air in the soil.

and about transplanting,,,, if you gradually up-pot - it's easyier to keep the plant watered - especially at first. A small plant in a big pot is trouble waiting to happen. I start in 8 oz styro cups, up-to 24oz then to 1 gal, 2 gal and maybe then to 5 - but that's a LOT of veg time.... When you put a small plant in a big pot - there's lots of soil with no roots - that soil can be wet when the plant is really DRY and that can be a bad thing - if when you transplant, there is - an inch or two around the old root ball - that will fill in quickly When you get 2, 3 or 4 inches of new soil - that's a big space to try to fill evenly.

Start lifting the plant - you will notice when the pot is lite - you want to water when the pot is lite and hopefully befor the plant starts to droop, lift that pot and feel the weight - then water and lift it again - you'll get the "Hang of it"

And remember: The vast majority of troubled plants are loved to death.

Oh and don't ever give em a lil summtin-summtin unless they need it. (ya know, the old "Ohhhh I'll just water em a tad" cause I'm a farmer and that's what farmers do...... (wrong, farmers give the garden what it wants - when it wants it)

Why 7.0 pH? That's a lil high for canabis.

It gets easier.....
