My friend did a straight t-5 from veg to flower. Remember to get the blue bulbs for veg and red for flower. His results were okay considering the amount of watts used. expect a decrease in yield. Since ur not using HPS you will have tighter flower formations since they will not experience as much stretch like being exposed to an hps. If I recall correctly, I think he averageda about 1/2 a zip per plant out of 8 plants in 2.5 gal square pots. Not bad for a rookie. The quality was pretty good but not the greatest. Worth it if this is just for personal meds.

I use T5HO from start to finish, I just trimmed the last harvest today and am more than happy with my results. I grow in the OBBT method, 4 plan ts in a 2x3x4 foot box.I use a 2x2 ft fixture 8 lamps 24W 6500K for veg and 3500K for flower. All the pic are of the last grow, I just put it all into curing jars today after hanging for 7 days.PROOFS IN THE PICS.

Bravo Pearl. I trust that fan is NOT on directly under those buds that are drying?

Also as a side note to the thread; when using T5's your nutes aren't going to be quite as strong as with a stronger HPS bulb.

Start with lower PPM's and work up slowly.

I'd suggest looking into the pl-l grows on this site. The Highpod is a really interesting grow using vertically oriented pl-l lights. They are like t5's bent in half so only one end gets hot.

i use em for veg i whould never use them for flower and that ficture pearlemae with the pics posted is pretty expensive. for the same price as the 4x8 u can get a 1000 watt cool tube and electronic switchable ballast for the same price and you wont loose half your yield

you can do well with any kind of light if you take the time to understand its strengths and weaknesses and play to each.

I am doing my first grow using Quantum Bad Boy HO T-5- 4 ft bulbs (~50 watts per bulb). I bought 8 each 2900 and 6500 bulbs, which allows me to blend the spectrums from veg to harvest.

The AF strain started sexing several days ago. It's been growing ~ 2" per day. The internodes are tighter than anything I've experienced with 400 watt HPS or 90 watt LED supplemented with ~ 400 watts of CFLs.
