Does it have to be plastic? You can get very serviceable liners for steel 55gal drums and light sure as hell isn't going to penetrate those. With RO water though I'd think you could get away with a plain steel drum, just well washed. It'd be years before you see any real issues with it.

too bad, I was gonna say the ebb n gro drums work perfect. The lid can easily be sealed from lights with the use of a circular piece of cardboard with reflective tape, or just tape the lid directly... depends if you needed tubes to stick out or not
