I have been now in Mexico for 2 days.

First day I spent was in Isla de la Mujeres, in Cancun. It is supposed to be a good place to score and stay, but I don't agree much to the supposed. Maybe coz' it is not tourist season.
I tried to get some herb, lowest price after checking out few guys and negociate (took me hours) was around 40 bucks an 1/8th. wtf, especially when it is mexican brown weed. Nowhere near nepal, no way to negociate. So I passed on this one.

Next step, 2nd day in Tulum, south of Cancun. Try to score some buds with 'round 20 different guys, 5 said they knew and ended up with the lowest price of around 7$ a gram, still mexi brown weed. No way, I passed again on this one. Ended up in a nice guest house where i smoked two joints with some nice guys, I cannot say much except the herb tasted a lot like the cheap carribean one, very green, but nice mellow high.
According to locals, best price here would be 60$us for an ounce. Way too much IMO.

So I'm heading up for few days in the south tomorrow, than I'll stay around Oaxaca for a while trying to set up a nice seed stock of good strains. I'm sure I'll find affordable ganja there, I will not and cannot afford to pay for 40$us few grams of random mexican herb.

My chillum need to be filled and few grams won't help that much !

ah man, cancun and tulum is over the top touristey! also not really the scene to hook up good weed. didn't even look around when was around there aparts, it was clear that caribean coast is tittiebars and touristprices!

well, a bus will take you to Oaxaca!

those prices you we're offered are rediculous and i'm glad you didint fall for it!

the hash i've shown in the last page cost us 100 pesos/g and the weed was like 1/5 of it!

if you're interested about the specific village i'm talking about, please drop me a pm, as i dont really want to put it out there for everyone. not like it's the hardest place to find but the place had such a peacefull atmosphere, wouldnt want all it to go to waste!

So far I was not really successful in scoring some buds.

People are very friendly around so I tend to be to trusty to buy the stuff - wrong. I didn't buy anything in Cancun nor Tulum because prices asked where way to much, usually 10$ for 2g of some random buds.

Now in San Cristobal, a really nice city, I'm trying to get something decent. I finally accepted the offer of one guy I met, that was 1/2 an ounce for 30 us$. Of course, the guy brought me back 5g, which is far from what I expected.

The buds are really nice, but I found this really expensive for Mexico. We met some "nice" mexican guys that should have helped me to score, but after 2 hours waiting with them I said bye bye to the 20$ I gave up on getting the money back. fuckers are everywhere I guess. Never trust a drunk mexican, and don't go on buds hunting with your girlfriend, now I know...

Coke is all over and it seems cheaper and easier to score than buds. It is sad.

Purple Indica : (30$us, 5.2g)

Buds are quite fluffy, very dark purple buds. The taste is very earthy/hashy, quite purpley as I like to call it, but no overwhelming like some purple. It has the stone of an indica, pretty much block your thoughts, gives a nice buzz even if I definetly enjoy more the sats for the daytime. Very few seeds, pretty well grown, a bit overdried

Purple Indica

Potency : 7/10

Smell, bouquet : 5/10

Smell, Intensity: 5/10

Taste, variety of flavours : 6/10

Taste, Intensity : 6/10

Overall : 6/10

Some purple indica that would need some work but definetly some nice genetics.



So far I am really impressed by the high prices asked for herb, I had to refuse at least 10 times stating that I cannot pay that much for buds (5$ a g is just fucking crazy for outdoors here)
Despite my little spanish speaking, it seem that they don't even care about negociating, I guess a lot of the dealers I met are probably richer than I am.
Plus I'm surprised that you have to look for it, even in tourist areas.

My goal anyway is the surroundings of Oaxaca where the goods are ! heading there in 2/3 days

So far my trip is nice but I got to reach more inexpensive place, prices are around 8$ for a night in hostel, 4$ for a big meal in local places (I love the mexican food : tacos, enchilladas, quesadillas, Yiiihaaaa !), and the buds, too much !

Hey titoon,

I wish I would have known you were going to San Cristobal. In la plaza de Santo Domingo you'll almost always find some younger, hippy-ish artesanos selling their crafts among all the others. Most of them are very nice and can hook you up with anything you need in the town. Try Madre Tierra restaurant also.

Will you be heading further south to Guatemala (highly recommended)?

I recommend you a lot guatemala , went there for more than 3month and half and traveled in almost every corner of it, i met a LOT of good weed, beautiful sativas with a lot of differents tastes, colors, shapes ...saw two fields (little ones), a farmer in flores, and a rasta-grower in livingston...(not allowed to take pictures)

I brought back a lot of sativa seeds aswell (i made a thread in cbg forum), 4 strains from Livingston (rasta one), another from a place near antigua, another one from Flores near Tikal(farmer's ones), and the last one from Lanquin (semuc champey), all thoses places deserve the visit ...

Near Panajachel and lake atitlan (deserve a visit), there is also a lot of good weed, San Pedro also is awesome to score, sativa, but also some bubba kush indoors by gringos or old hippy's !!!! it was sold like 10E one gram (never bought it cuz i was not there to buy and smoke indica but the odor was purely earthy/coffe/bubba)

If you can make some young friends and be considered not like a pure tourist , you can find some awesome weeds, pure sativa like incense/woody, some fruity ones , ect... prices can be like 10Q (quetzalez) for one G (1E,1G) even for good weed , dont pay more than 30Q for a gram (except if you really want it cuz it looks good) and negociate, negociate, negociate (national sport there)

If you know spanish it's a huge +1(and it's really easy to speak Francanol when you speak french) , almost all my friends there they were guatemalans , the castellano from guatemala is clear to understand, the people really pronunciate it well ... and guatemala people are really good vibes (buenas ondas, we said that always there) if you are not a "gringo", try to dont speak english cuz you gonna be classified as tourist, life is also really cheap (eat in the "comedores" , same food as in restaurant)

One advice, dont stay at "la ciudad" (guatemala city) , it's useless, go directly to antigua and there search a good and cheap travel agency to go in some places far away from the tourist places...

If you wanted good Mexi buds you should've came to florida, texas, cali, new mexico or arizona. All the mexi stuff goes here first than spread out through the states. Down in Florida, mainly Miami and Tampa, we recieve the mass of exported bud. Best stuff is from Jamaica and is a indica/sativa hybrid. Huge yielder, very finicky though.

I wish you good luck with your searches down there. Guatemala is a good suggestion or Colombia....Mexicans can seem nice but typically grimey(sorry if i offend anyone). I wish someone exported hash to the states...

Lol... well given that the original was pretty poorly formed, not a bad translation. And I wouldn't suggest stringing together random vulgarities like that unless you're with friends who will only laugh and correct you.

But anyway, Guatemala is one of the best countries to learn Spanish because theirs is very simple and easy to understand due to the large number of people whose original language is a Mayan dialect and not Spanish.

titoon, if you do make it to Guatemala, head straight for the village San Pedro on Lake Atitlan. There are buses direct from San Cristobal, MX to Panajachel, Guatemala (Atitlan), then by boat to San Pedro. Its an indigenous village with the majority of tourists being the laid-back hippy types and party goers. There you can find everything from Oaxacan, to Guatemalan sativas, to Colombian punto rojo.
