Age Old Grow Soil + additives

Hello ICMag. I am using approx ~2-2.5 gallon sized potting containers. I mixed Age Old Grow soil (which has no EWC, but does contain dolomite lime) 3 parts to 1 with some earth worm castings and chunky perlite. I mixed in about ~1tbsp (hefty) per gallon of soil or perhaps a little more. Do you think that this would be enough dolomite lime to last the entirety of my grow and balance ph throughout flower?

I would think you'll be alright with that. I'm not familiar with Age Old's mix, but I'm guessing it's peat based. Generally with a primarily peat mix you'll always run a little on the acidic side, even with the lime, but it will be much better than if you didn't have it.

Great, thanks! Yeah, the bag says it has dolomite lime added in it, but who knows how much they actually used. I'm growing 100% organic, mixed in EWC like i said, and each pot has 1.5-2tbsp of d. lime.

no problem... I don't know how organic you plan on getting with your grow, but another thing I'd mention is don't rely only on the lime for your cal/mag. You'll see much healthier plants if you supplement with some sort of bottled product. It's off the organic path a bit, but it's worth it and in some cases necessary.

Oh yeah, I've got some Cal-Mag+ (i know it's not organic, but it works) and some EJ Microblast for the rest. I'm using Age Old's whole line up basically. I hate to turn this into a seed thread suddenly... but I just looked at the links in your sig and holy shit you are the man haha your plants look incredible! Know any way I can get my hands on some BOG genetics?

Yeah, I guess I'm swimming in the BOG at the moment. 2011 will see some interesting plants for sure.

I used to use Age Old all the time. Still use it every now and then, but it's the only bottled nute that I use. Do you run Age Old kelp then? If you do, you should try a different product called Eklonia Kelp. My plants really respond to the stuff. It's like super kelp.

Yeah I've been using Age Old's Kelp, I'll have to check out the other stuff thank you
