Need Help!! Shit load of larva when flushing!

I got to flushing my Island Sweet Skunk plants on day 58 and notice a shit load of white/black larva being flushed out of my roots. I have zero knats flying around in my growroom, and notice nothing but larva when flushing them out and no adults. Should I be worried? Should I flush once again and then refill rez. or do I need to get an additive to kill them.

My set up is 1600watt air cooled 4.5by4.5 tent with a 4by4 ebb&flow with 40gl. rez.

Nutes that were use AN Sensi Bloom, AN Bud Candy, AN Big Bud, AN Overdrive, Hygrozyme, and Molassas.

Temp 75-78
Humidity 55-65
Water temp 65-68

Just pulled some ladies last night and saw some white larve in the bottom of my buckets but I never saw an adult. I doses the remainin plant with gnatrol and I will be doing like 4 pyrethrum bombs once I get the flowers out.

sounds like you have medium based pests, but without a description or pic its hard to say what it could be. gnat larva would be accompanied by adult gnats, which can be treated with mosquito dunks. but if your plants are nearly done you can just harvest normally then let the coco dry out totally which will kill them. or put the coco outside in the freezing temps, either will kill the pests. or you just chuck it and start with new coco.

Some looked totally white(like juveniles) and the others looked totally black(like adults). Need help. How long should I flush.

I would consider throwing some neem oil at them. I had what appeared to be symphilids (but not the color people describe them as) and it knocked 'em out from what I can tell with one or two waterings.

107 views and only 5 replies??? Ridiculous!

theres been alot of reviews with no info cause you are not giveing enough info... got a pic? is it like worm larva??? is it a little mite bug??? give more info before you get mad... and if your flushing youll be fine... i would worry about the next run though....

by the look of your plants you either burned them or its root aphids... if you have root aphids theres TONS of threads on them read up and figure if it is your bug....

i'd try diatomaceous earth in the media. fossils that cut any bug to shreds. if i'm wrong please correct.

They are little black mite bugs, they have two feeler sensors on them and seem like they are not flyers. The small juvenille ones are a lighter pale color. After a good flush they would then collect themselves together on top of my rez. water and look like black spots with a little pale color in the background. Did notice that they jump around like a mesquito larva when on top of any water body, and when on dry land they would move around like a mite/bug. I'm not really worried about it, they will be eradicated for my next grow, but would like to know if they are benifical or not. The Flowers look awesome and no real sign of root damage, so I'm wondering if they were eating up all the salts or something like that.

sorry you are having problems amberman. Indo has had larvae in hydroton rootzone before. never seen larvae that were beneficial. the little buggers eat roots and then leaves turn colors, attracting adults and killing leaves. you want to get rid of them asap. abamectin works wonders in veg, but should not be used during flowering. if you have plants in veg, indo recommends hitting them with abamectin to be safe, so your next run will be clean. other things that could help are- BTI(try to find liquid mosquito dunk) in the rez, sticky traps in canopy and on top of hydroton near stems. sticky gel on the stems so adults cant climb up the stem to the leaves.spray with pyrethrins. dutchmaster zone seems to help keep the bugs out of the rootzone.

maybe try shaking the pots around a little. do adults fly out of your hydroton pots when the pots are disturbed?

peace

They are springtails. Harmless.

I was thinking this as well... You mentioned that they are jumping around on top of the water... is it more of a twitching thing they're doing? I've had these and they really don't seem to do any damage since they eat dead plant material.

Again, pictures would help sort this better. Good luck with 'em.
