Quality Genetics in Cali?

Hello all I moved to California I used to be in Florida and I'm happy to finally made the leap of faith
All medical and was wondering where are some dispensaries in southern cali that carry quality genetics maybe some grown by you guys or just some straight "you gotta try this shit man".. haha
I been to a few and nothing special... already tried 20+ 8ths of expensive shit and again.. nothing incredible.. 2-3 where top but others... not so much.

also Looking to buy some Clones any place you guys can recommend?

My plants are about to start flowering and got a lot of different genetics growing best wishes to all keep it green and simple

you can get clones anywhere... even craigs list.... So cal is huge n spread out... but if your looking in SD, LA, HollyWeed, Riverside, orange co... get copy of nugs magizine or just about any rag an you'll see a lot at the dp's.... I say buy some beans and start freash - then you know exactly what you have - less spider mites powder mildew or ? for genitics...

an yes theres tuns out here, but what you find is all ?abal imo thats why I said 'get some BEANS and start fresh'...

BEANS are a gamble. You don't know what you have. You have to hope you don't get shafted, You have to grow out and select the best outta what you got, which takes longer. Get a legit cut, quarantine it and treat it before putting it in your grow is the best way to know what you are getting.

PNC hasn't once had PM or mites since they moved back to SD. At least not when I visit and I visit about once a week.

Hard to find good genetics in cuts at the dispensary. If they were good, you'd never find them for sale. Harder to start from seeds, but you will usually get a keeper out of 20 pops.

Precisely. As much as I'd like to think that the canna-community helps each other out, I highly doubt great cuts would be distributed and sold commercially. Popping beans from a reliable source may be slow, but at least you'll find your keeper...eventually.

You can still find decent cuts at dispensaries, though. I use them as my backup plan when the routine propagation/germination goes sour.

I would tend to agree with grapeman All of the best bud I have had was grown by myself or someone I know. Remeber that most dispensorys are there to make money. High turn over rate with medium grade cannabis.

I'll agree that MOST dispensaries have junk genetics that are just on the word of the vendor....

however there are some standout co ops and even clone ONLY co ops out here that offer awesome legitimate strains.

after a little looking, one can easily fine a reputable source for clones in CA.


on the clone only places:

think about it, they base their entire business model on having quality genetics, how could they afford to stay in business if they sell junk garbage? people would stop going after the first purchase and theyd drop off the map in a few months, I promise there would be massive shittalking on WT if a place started pumping random crap genetics

the places I said have had THOUSANDS of patients run their gear. I've ran some and I can personally verify they are legit, even the OG kush super rare and 'elite' type strains.

As soon as i get properly situated here in NorCal, I have got to try some (what was that?) Sweet Tooth #4. Someone here on ICMag convinced me of this particular strain's benefits ...

There is AFAIK a wide variety of good-to-top-notch genetics available here in Cali (how could that not be the case?) It's probably fair to say that if you want to experience the widest range of great genetics, you need to be prepared to look at using clones as well as sprouting your own beans.

i live in cali to and dispenserys suck for genetics i find all my good genetics come from friends who either got handed down the cuttings/beans or got extreamly lucky with a club cut and were smart enough to keep a mom of the strain

The problem is you dont know if what you are buying is what you are buying. So most end up just growing cuts to determine if it is what they think. If it is then grand! If it aint, then you get the reason the dispensarys blow in most peeps mind. Grow a few bad/mislabeled cuts from the clubs and it will turn even the most optimistic grower off to them. After all this time you would think the clubs would get a clue and only sale what they can verify.

Thanks Guys Don't get me Wrong I've been popping seeds ever since i GOT HERE! lol i got more than 20 strains going from seeds, Black widow, g13widow, medicine man, Critical mass, Shit, shark shock to name a few from Mr.nice .. i got some Chimeras Mental Floss looking incredible also his calizahr that I've grown before. I got some Dj short stuff and many more I alway grow from seeds but being that Im in California where supposely the best genetics and Clones in the world are thought i ask.
I bought some Pre 98 bubba, Taihoe Og, NL#5, jEDI OG, and afghan bull rider what you guys think?
I been taking tons of cutting and trying to get settle in this jungle.
