Its only on that 1 plant 2 tops... check out how close the lights were... there about 12''-16'' from canopy(now there 2') and they are 1000w.... I think the burn was coming from the light being to close to the plants... but i thought if the lights are aircooled then they can pretty much be as close as they want? never had this happen before... thank god its only that one bud. you can also see the burn in the canopy picture below, under the first light on the left.

also the temp in this room has been dropping to around 50 degrees during sleep cycle so maybe the low temps and the intense heat from the lights when they first come on is what burned that top?

anyone ever had this problem?

You want someone to pay attention to 1 plant in that garden?!!!!Sorry....i'm still stuck in the green part of your room!!

I to would agree about the a/c lights not really bein an issue with burnin but it does happen.

But if it was from any kind of heat stress why would it only be that one plant??Maybe a dead spot with air circulation above that 1 plant??

Things look nice....mad props

A flex/ bend in the glass on the cover or a flaw in the bulb glass can cause a hot spot focusing hot light just like the prism from a water spot. I have also noticed occasionally that leaves that have even the slightest amount of curve or bow that runs the full length of the outside of the leaves causes the "cupped " leaf to hold in heat like a solar radar dish.

Are there light movers on this? Sometimes heavey buds that are staked in place cant bob and weave with the airflow anymore. Hard to say what this is caused by but you sure do some nice work.

yep, light/heat burn, even with cooled hoods i would not put them closer than 18" from the tallest bud in the canopy.

just as a good side note, for oscillating fan/light ratio, the rule of thumb is 2kw/1 fan

so i would personaly have 4-5 fans in that room blowing over the canopy and keep the lights at 18" and you should be fine.....heck i got 6 fans in a 4kw 10x10 room, 3 wall fans and 3 stand fans...

shoulda seen the face of the ppl at wallmart when i unloaded the store of all of their oscillating fans, lol

way too many ppl overlook radiant heat, even me at times...

IMO, the rule "if its not too hot for your hand then its ok for the plants is BS, if you feel any heat on your hands then you might want to back off a bit....just my 2c

Just thaught i would add......

i see mold on those buds...maybe from the burn, either way, clip all affected buds immediatly so it doesnt spread to other plants in the room....

i HATE mold...better to kill 1 plant (or part of it), than the whole crop....

no mold bro its just burnt to the point where the bud crinkles right off... thats the first thing i thought and checked it thoroughly before i decieded to just leave it... the humidity is way to low for any mold

thanks for all the replies hit the nail right on the head with the light burn... going to always keep a min distance of 2ft from canopy from now on.

no such thing as RH being too low for mold, there are diff kinds of mold, some grow in dhumid conditions and some in dry.

the thing is, once any kind of mold as been introduced, even with the best of conditions mold spores can travel and infect other plants....

you may think that your room is pretty dry, but im sure between those buds its pretty humid..

BRO, im just trying to help ya, and i say why take a chance on loosing your whole harvest when you could just cut off a few burnt/infected buds....

either way, the plant is using alot of its energy to try and repair the damage, when that energy could be used elsewhere on the plant....my opinion would be to cut the buds that are infected....
