sunlight supply inc 1000w ballast 110 to 220 convert

I'm trying to convert a sunlight supply inc 1000w from 110 to 220. I asked a guy at my grow shop and he told me how to but I was wondering if anyone had pictures. I'm pretty sure its possible because when I pulled off the cover it had 110 220 and 244 written on the coil.
power in has white black and green. Green goes to case ground and ground for hood, white and black got to coil and then out comes red, blue and white.
Thank you for any help and I apologize if this has already been asked.

they have alot of different ballast, which one are you running. if it's a digi ballast normally all you have to do is buy the 220 cord for it, no change in wiring. even some of their mag ballast switch from a new plug but you have to turn a switch i think.

anyways the transformer in the ballast should have a wiring diagram on it anyways. you might have to unscrew it and turn it over to see the sticker.

Its easy as 123

1. remove black wire from cord from tap (wire) marked 120v on ballast.

2. put wire nut on ballast wire marked 120v

3. Take black wire from the cord and wire nut it to tap (wire) marked 220 on the ballast.

4. Leave the white wire where it is, do not move this in any way.

Now you will need to buy a new cord cap (plug) from somewhere like home depot or electrical supply house.

What you want is something like 15 amp 250v rated plug.

Now take the cord, cut off the end, carefully strip back about and inch and a half of insulation and carefully remove it without cutting in to insulation on wires.

Now take the wires from the plug, install the green or ground wire to the green screw on the plug, install the white and black wires to the HOT screws on the plug, usually these are colored either black or gold.

that should complete the process.

this is the type plug you will be looking for

Here is a diagram for further instruction

See here in this pic where the cord from the wall plug comes in an attaches to the tap marked 120, all you are going to do is switch that to the one marked 220

Iron Lion, thanks for the great graphic and all the help, I have on last question, my options are 208, 240, and 277. I know 277 is 3 phase, and I think I'm running 240, what is 208?
again thanks alot and +rep

Use the one marked 240, all the other info from above will still be the same.
