New basic hempy.. Grow log from day 0 !!

Allright all... im bored and trying the hempy method. I have started with three nice clones(more rooting) I just bought Perlite and Vermiculite. Im doing the 75/25 mix. As you can see from pics I cleaned the perlite in 6.1 water, strained, and mixed with dry vermiculite. I have clear cups with little holes 3/4 inch up from bottom. Installed nice 6" rooted clones out of EZ-Cloner. Put them in my Veg room with my Ebb/Flow babies. I fed them for the first time with just 6.1 tap water. Ill keep this water for a few days, then next week start nutes at 1/4 strength with a basic lucas GH formula. Sound good? Any hempy experts please chime in and help. Ive got 20 clones 10 days out from planting and want to get these going the same. Thanks for looking all!!

Off to a good start!

I don't know what 1/4 lucas formula comes out to, but I feel rooted clones at least 500 ppm

Ok Day 1 from planting. Obviously no noticeable change. I started 1/4 550PPM Lucas today. I let them sit overnite in straight 6.0 water. Only 4 for now in 24hr light.. One 600 MH and three 250W HPS verticle. Theyre in my Ebb and Flow veg room. Also a look at my clones making their way... Ive hopefully got 30 more to start in Hempy here in a couple of weeks.

Oh the Dr. Pepper bottle is my nutes that I have stored in my fridge for daily feeding

Shady... Sorry for the confusion... Im just starting my lil hempys. I have them in my standard 24 plant Ebb&Flow system with Hydroton. Look at my album for my other grows. Just the 4 little drinking glasses are my hempy starters.

!!!, Stonedar, Bona... Thanks for stoppin by!! Im prob gonna limit my posting to every few days. No reason to post every day unless something goes wrong. Am I right or does everyone want to see every day? Im bored, I can if ya want

OK Day 3 updates... I now have 8 lil hempys growing. Putting more in as clones are ready. Im still looking for some cheap buckets on internet.. Nothing local to me for shopping. The first 4 lil girls are showing lots of roots towards outside of cups. Amazing to watch root growth day by day. Heres some pics, hope ya can see them ok. PS... These little ones are in the same room with new clones in my E&F bucket system. Kind of a side by side grow if ya wanna call it that, but im only here to show my first try at Hempys!! Happy Holidays All!!

Looks like you are off to a good start.

I would recommend getting some colored beer cups as well as the clear. Put the clear one into the colored, to block light from hitting roots, and just pull it up if you want or feel the need to check the roots.

For what it's worth, once I see roots come through my rapid rooter plugs and I put them into hempy beer cups, I feed full strength lucas with FNB from there until 1/2 way thru flower with zero issues, on 9 different strains.

Im right there with ya Zendo... I hate the clear cups, just wanted to see the progress... Im looking for cheap 2-3 gallon pails/buckets/pots.... Most of the stuff I find on the 'net has holes in them... Id give anything for the GrowBags, but they have holes in em... Am I stuck to 3 gall buckets at $three bucks a pop??

If your going to veg more than 3 weeks in your bucket I would go 5 gal bucket. Every time I use a 2-3 gal bucket I find myself transplanting to a 5 gal because of root bound plants.
Nice start on the plants

I searched the internet for a long time to try and find the best buckets to use as Hempy in my closet. I am doing a 9 plant perpetual SOG and had been using grow bags. you can use waterproof tape and tape up all the holes, then make one where you like. It works much better than I thought it would, but after years of using grow bags, Im really getting to hate how flimsy they can be.

I had read that dollar stores carry good size trash cans or buckets sometimes but never went to look. About a week ago I went to 5 or 6 different "dollar store" type places, and wow was I amazed. I need a smaller container than you are going for, so I ended up with some 1.5gal trash cans that are 11" tall, 9.5" wide and 6.5" deep. I can perfectly pack 9 of them in my space. And guess what...They were ONE FREAKIN DOLLAR each! I bought all 26 on the shelf! (told the lady it was for my wife's entry into the craft fair, blah blah blah just make something up if they ask)

One place i went to had round trash cans with a crappy flimsy top, but they were 3.5gal and $1.97ea!! Bout 14" tall and 8 or so inches wide.

Just thought I would give ya my 2 cents in case you hadnt scoped the dollar stores yet. nothing worse than having to pay $5 or more each container when its still not exactly what you want. Lord knows I have at least 100 containers of all sizes I havent been able to use due to the size on the internet being 1/2" off.....fuckers!! :)

Best of luck man, Im subbed for sure! Got my first 3 trash can hempies goin right now, Bubbleicious about 1 week into flower.

he said he bought some containers on the internet and the size description was off by half an inch (1/2") so he couldn't use the containers
I speak gibberish fluently, thanks for asking

OK all... The girls have been in the lil cups for about 6 days. Theyre looking sweet. I bumped the nutes to 1020PPM. They love it!! Heres some pics!

PS.. Still looking for about 50 2 or 3 gall buckets/containers on the internet. Im 2 hrs away from anything out here. Its gotta be the net. I think the cheapest ive found is around 2.50ea, but then another 50-70 for shipping. What a crock!!

They look great and they are just a few days behind my babies , do not waisting time on those buckets cause you do not have a lot time before transplant.
Tape some party cups and put those clear ones inside the taped to avoid algae or you must
clear it at transplant (2 or 3 of my party cups give signs of algae without cover)
I read somewhere to spread the roots even during the transplant .
When i was making it i untangle the roots and spread them in their new home the results
is zero recovery time from transplant.

Keep it up !

Sorry all... I have been slacking on updates... I finally got my buckets, cleaned the perlite, mixed 3:2 with vermiculite. What a pain in the ass!! I was gonna do 50 of these, but hell no. This isnt for me. I need my automated systems, but im gonna see this one through with 4 buckets, hand watered.

Enough of the bitching.... The plants are really doing great! They are toe to toe with my Ebb&Flow bucket system right next to them. They are gonna grow together, so its kind of a side by side, but Im not claiming that... dont need any controversy.

Im feeding them simple GH lucas formula at 1050ppm
