New S&P Fan? TD-Silent

I am hoping I am not bringing up a new topic, but I was browsing through the posts and I found that there is a new S&P Fan called the TD-Silent. It doesn't seem to be available in the US, but does anyone know if these are going to be available in the US? I use a TD-150, but I had to box my TD-150 up to keep it quiet, but if this new product is much quieter than the original TDs, then why not use them?

Has anyone tried these new fans? Can someone give us a review?

I used to use S&P fans but not anymore , i had a td-500 till i found it was blowing air out thru the casing and at the time i was having to push thru a carbon filter rather than pull because of space restrictions so that was not on ! and it was a major security prob .

Have'nt used S&P fans since and i use RVK instead cos i know the case is sealed up tight and IMO is a better quality fan .

The new silent S&P ones they do look to be better built tho, but i have never used one.

Not sure I'd get another S&P fan for exhausting at least. They have automatic thermal shutoff that turns the fans off if it gets too hot. Which would cook your plants. They are a poor choice for grow room fan.

Never had it happen, but just the fact that it could is a little nerve wracking, especially on hot summer days.

The specs do look pretty good on these though.

That is a pretty hot cab. How are you guys able to even grow something at 104F?

But have any of you had experience with the new T-Silent?

Most fans have a thermal cutoff.
Even maxfans have a max temp rating, it's listed on the outside of the box.
I have 3 S&P TD-200s and they do work well but have limitations.
First off, they do leak air between fan body and housing.
Second and most important, at zero static pressure they are decent fans. But as the SP increases, these fans really don't have the power to move as much air as a maxfan or a vortex.
If noise is your concern perhaps the TD silent is what you need.
You can also physically insulate a fan or build an insulated box for it.
