destroying legends

Are we destroying some of the biggest legends in the skunk world by over hybriding.I mean look at all the varietys there are now, anyone remember what the first strain white widow was like,Northern lights etc etc,We are leaving many spiecies of skunk go to the wayside some is the most incredible gear you will ever smoke.i really think over hybriding isnt doin many favours to the spiecies i really dont anybody have any opinions would like to hear them many thanks deidree

While some breeders work towards the new (hybrids),, many are now preserving the old (mainly underground as IBLs). We personally have our hope in the latter... keep faith. One love

So keep clones of your favorites and stop complaining.

NO. More like,, get the seeds you want an IBL them,, before BIGBrother moves in and monsanto's this shit!!!

They wanna genetically patent these genetics in the long run,, so make your own seed stocks now (and give them a different name) !

Also remember,, 'they' cannot patent a hybrid they've never seen!! so IBL your own hybrids,, that's the real game and where REAL breeders are at today!

In the perfect, theoretical world, maybe.

You make it sound like making IBL seed form is so easy and so automatic and keeps all the traits of the original favorites. It isn't, it doesn't, and you know it.

Where's the RKS IBL?

Ciao Doc,

This really interests me. How do you keep your IBL stock? Do you keep running open pollinated runs with mixed males and females or do you keep a mom and dad and cross and back cross until you have a stable line? I would like to do this but with limited space I was wondering which option would be best. Thanks and Keep it danK!

The Road Kill Skunk (RKS) genes are still found in various bags of good green brickweed from Mexico ;)

Using as many individuals as possible (from the same family) is the best way to inbreed, this maintains diversity. We breed organic veggie seeds mainly, and some ganja. so comments are based on this.

It is always better to work with fresh seeds than old clones.

Hope this helps

Haha, I don't think we have to worry about Monsanto when it comes to buds. Growing your own food; on the other hand, seems like it is becoming a criminal offense now.

It's only a matter of time. Legalization will bring GMO cannabis seeds and hemp seeds.

Doc thanks for the replies. I take it open pollination would be the best way to keep the diversity. I will look into breeding veggies as this seems to be the basis for your experience. Keep it danK!

Scary thought! the future is scary in many aspects... I got tons of seeds made from great breeders and crosses made by myself and others....I agree Doc...

And the old School Classics are great, as are some of the new hybrids...But I will always have my Skunk #1 genetics..ALWAYS!

...I got the RKS..... Smells just like a skunk....My boy had a bud in his hand when he walked into a mutual friends house....and the mutual friend said "Man, what the fuck is that smell? Did you hit a skunk?" He had no idea my boy had a bud in his hand, ready to smoke....Straight up Skunk smell, with a little piney undertone....Shit is dank.. If the RKS is in a small tuperware container, and you lift the lid a little, the entire room stinks...lol...Its great.

dont think they will ever legalize it,Think about it if they legalize it they lose control of it,They like there little bit of control on hash but to lose all control if it was taxed the black market could far under price the goverment withouht a doubt in there eyes it cannot be legal period

hybrids

hybrids

Oldschool Widow....Oh how I remember.
Hybrid power at the moment in strength wise is second to none but the genetics will soon break down and produce deformed hash plants ,i was told golden rule of growing, good genetical seeds, would you say seeds off a hybrid thats been hybridded are good genetical seeds or slightly weeker just a thought deidree barlow
