micro SOG: to stretch or not to stretch?

S

Swansen

Simply, anyone doing a micro SOG, in any variation of the DrBud method, but not having the plants stretch to the light??

was thinking about it, and as far as i can consider, purpose of having the plants stretch is to allow more space for bud development, i'm pretty sure is whats going on there. However, in the process, you get a lot of wasted space along the bottom portion of the plant, and, that is something this method is suppose to do away with.

So, anyone not stretch their plants out? or maybe semi stretched?? thanks. peace.

I keep them always as close to the light as possible. They'll stretch either way but this way the light is used way better imho :)

The amount of N you give in flower can influence stretch also. The doctors nute recipe calls for quite a bit of N ( fish emulsion 5-1-1 and shultz 10-15-10. Im vertical and dont usually have problem with the plants not stretching during flower. Light placement isnt the only tool in your box to control stretch.
lights
nutrients
strain
veg time
crowding
light spectrum cool to reduce strectch warm to encourage
green above a plants main growth tip has been known to induce stretch.
red below the plant has been known to slow stretch.
